EC-17 Holdout Blaster
So I am almost done with the basics for my scout, and after finishing the helmet, I am wondering what kind of setup I should have for the inside, right now I am using foam, but it is not super stable, and I know some use construction helmet rigs on the inside, but I am wondering how that will fit with a fan for airflow and/or a microphone for a speaker setup. kayelbe
A hard hat suspension rig will not affect any of those things anymore than foam would. Likely, foam and even MICH pads would be more intrusive, since you have to place them everywhere in order to keep your helmet from bobbling.
iceknyght
I use helmet padding in all my helmets. A tab of sticky velcro where you want them and these pads stick to them with no issues. I usually only need a couple in key places to make it work, which still gives me plenty of airflow... https://smile.amazon.com/Aoutacc-Universal-Airsoft-Replacement-Accessories/dp/B07PGF4CTH/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3RMY2D0URD6TW&keywords=helmet+pads&qid=1649973325&sprefix=helmet+pads%2Caps%2C112&sr=8-5
Dart
I've always been a foam guy. Just works with my head shape and stuff. Tried using a hard hat liner but I find them not so comfy. Either way, try some stuff out and see how you feel. I always liked to test it by turning my head rapidly side to side. Ideally, the helmet should slip but should stick on your head firmly. So you can see, and stuff...
Stryker_412
I use the hard hat rig in my RS bucket and there is plenty of room for speaker amp and mic. May have room for fans too although I don’t use them. Here’s a pic of the inside of 1 of my buckets. I suppose it depends on make your bucket is, some are on the smaller side and may not have enough room.
