kacrut
My 1st ever Biker scout helmet build (Kropserkel) Hi!, guys... ever since i join the Virtual Armor party streaming several days ago, i decided to post my Kropserkel helmet build... I already made my Working in progress (Not Finnished yet) thread on our Garuda Garrison Indonesia web forum, this is gonna be the same WIP. So, here we go.. 1st of all I got the helmet partialy build, i guess who ever trying to build it just give up http:// http:// http:// As you can see the helmet already glued with E6000 (Thank goodness :D).. so i decided to take it apart with warm water, a bit of soap, and gently pry it with plastic scraper.. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// ---place foto--- After careful inspections.. i see, the Visor (bottom)part returned edge are partialy cut/gone, Visor opening are too wide, the Face plate (snout placement-upper side) had a (slightly) bump, http:// http:// http:// and helmet back side(left-right) cut in 90degres angle, I'm afraid that's gonna be Cracked over time... so I rounded the 90angle with sandpaper, and made a new patch with 1mm ABS plate, glued with super glue+some baking soda to filled some tiny gap. http:// http:// ....and strengthen the back side of it with 1mm ABS.. glued with E6000. Then pasted the edged with ABS paste. http:// http:// And for the Visor bottom part, i made a returned edge from 1mm ABS plate.. I made a template, roughly about 1cm, bend it with a heat gun or in my case a lighter then attached it with super glue. http:// http:// http:// http:// Then i use a two part putty.. it's called Eppo Putty.. i like to use this kind of putty because its really easy to shape(?) just with a bit of water to shape it, before its turned to solid.... and it's easy to sanded... well, kinda, Haha. http:// http:// http:// http://
kacrut
http:// Alteco epo putty. ... and please stand by,.. my internet are becomes a snail..so, ..yea' we'll be right back..🤦🏻 So, continue... After a bit of sanding, I put some spot putty http:// http:// http:// And some more spot putty for the face plate, upper visor etc. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// Ooh, nearly forgot... spot putty i use After i sanded all the ABS paste smooth with #300 then up to #1000 with a warm soapy water.. it's messy, i remember i got a cramp on my right arms haha.. and i can still hearing myself singing...just keep sanding...just keep sanding, what do we do sanding keep sanding (nemo). http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http://
kacrut
And lastly.. Visor back area,.. the side part thingy. Near the screw... here's the pictures. http:// I used 1mm ABS plate.. about 1cm devided half... one side i made some angled cutting for easy to bend.. Not using a heqt gun for this part.. i just followed the original curved, glued with super glue... i will sanded that returned edge. http:// I made that returned edge from Papercraft/papermodeling method.. it's called a 'tab' .. here's the example pictures http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http://
kacrut
I'm planning to add a chin cup, since i do have a MLC chin cup but i have to scale down a bit to fit with my chin, i kinda followed a method from the forums here, i forgot who it was.... i remember that i bookmark it,.. geezz, i really forgot who's. .so sorry guys. https://youtu.be/NLRnyhjPWfw and add some method by 'Evil Ted' ... anyway, here's mine. 1st I put masking tape all over the MLC chin cup, and then i trim off the excess maskin tape.. then I peel it off, cut the curves to flatten it. ... placed it on a piece of papper. http:// http:// http:// http:// Sorry i forgot to take a details progress pictures. I'm planning to use this pattern with 2mm for the base and 1mm for the front part of the chin...
kacrut
Hi .. sos sorry to late posts my build.. the KS helmet are already done, so here's my several picture of my build. My internet are going snails, so... going to take a while.. standby. 😁🤘🏼🙏🏼 Bolt and Nut I'm using @MrPoopie file as is no need to mod.. send it to my Garrison friend, he got 3D printer. Same size with my old MC helmet caped nut(white) And also the Snout from @MrPoopie file.. sanded a bit then some spot putty to hide the print lines, painted with Tamiya XF-20 because the KS stickers color are similar to XF-20 from Tamiya I remembered this.. Thanks to @BikerScout007 🙏🏼🙏🏼🤘🏼 I don't have airbrush.. you can see how thick is the paint, i strugle with several line brush LOL.. Aerator using mate black Edited June 24, 2023 by kacrut add some picts
kacrut
For Bolt i change the 3D print with similar size flat head bolt.. glued with super glue and some eppo putty.. As you can see, the bolt not flushed wiyh the visor.. so i using a heat gun from the back side of visor..then i pushed the bolt down. I made several ..just incase i made a mistakes..😁 The Helmet... From inside view... Aligned the Faceplate with the Visor, also the curvature the top of the faceplate+visor.. clamp it or use a strong magnet ... adjust a bit.. marked with pencil.. be sure that Left and Right side are the same From inside view
kacrut
The Helmet side.. Since i moded the KS build with add some 'return edge' for the visor.. i have to add not one ...but three... Three... 3(1mm) and and one... 1(2mm) ABS plate Aaa..aaa...aa.. Glued with power glue and (again) Eppo putty. Ooh, before i drilled, i make sure that the visor+faceplate are in open position.. make sure that both R/L visor hole are straight... Honestly i just eye balling it.... its dificult at first... and second...third... the fourth,.. anywaaay. If you managed ..mark it..then drilled. I'm planning to use this pattern with 2mm for the base and 1mm for the front part of the chin... Continued with Chin cup and strap. Bend the 2mm ABS plate Using a heat gun. The Chin cup base are from MLC helmet. MLC chincup are big, so i cut to size Front side i use 1mm ABS plate, power glue+baking soda and some ABS paste. Then put the black elastic strap I manually drilled for the elastic strap... Sanded.. For Paint i use Samurai Paint White 102 and Samurai Primer Putty (KP1***) I use the primer KP1*** and spot putty because the helmet have many scratch and tiny inperfection/tiny holes from my build. But you could use a standart primer for paint Test fit 🤘🏼🤘🏼😁 2cm sponge.. i use TK template 🤦😁
