Donovan's RS build

Recommended Posts

Hello all, just wanted to post a wip pic of my nearly finished scout. Just need to make the boots and my detanator. I'm currently waiting on my base boots from Gio and the wire and tube for my detanator. I think I may need to pull my bund up a bit and pull my cod down a little as well. I also wanted to thank everyone for all of the build threads they post on here and all the tips you guys give. I've applied so many to my build and it's made life so easy.Any feedback or questions would be appreciated on my build so far.

Helmet and armor- RS

Soft goods-Cucblack/kriptontop

Gloves-wampa wear xs

(Btw I am on the smaller side 5'6 115lbs if any smaller troopers are looking into RS)9c75e56db10b103f43f0cd3dc4969b60.jpg

Nice work. I still have my RS kit in the box gathering dust...need to get on that. From that one photo, I don't see much that's off. You already mentioned bringing the bund up and cod down.

Question --

Did you end up reshaping the chest portion? It's somewhat wide on me (5ft8, 152 lbs) and I was prob going to use a bit of heat to bend the center seam so the sides would come in a bit.

Did you also trim the shoulder bells a bit as well?

Thanks chopper, a lot of the tips came from you btw haha
And I actually didn't reshape the chest. With all of the layers of the scout underneath it filled out the chest nicely. I did trim a little bit off of the bells and the tops of the biceps though.

Your right shoulder bell may be flaring out a little bit. As a smaller frame myself I had similar issues of the bells resting correctly. It usually requires extra attention when putting them on.

I am kind of turned away from the camera but it isn't resting perfectly. I kind of rushed putting everything on, that's why my bund and cod aren't resting properly either. I may have to shorten the elastic on my shoulders just a tad bit to help stabilize them better

Yeah, don't sweat that stuff too much right now. People move, stuff moves. We'll get it figured out if you decide to post some L/R/Front/Back photos. Your two primary items are the cod and bund, which shouldn't be too tough to fix.

I'll definitely post some more photos once I start work on the boots. As I try on the costume more I'll make fine adjustments to where I'd like the whole thing to sit. Your input really helps out a lot

Would you also say about an inch up with the bund and an inch or two down with the cod? Or possibly more?8792d9789fa7d72e1a5ef534518f53ab.jpg68031d994e9973e1169881901a77255b.jpg

Here's an easy trick that works for many folks -- find your navel on your stomach and position your belt just below that. From there, the bund should sit just above the belt.

How does that end up looking, once in place?

I redid the sewing for the Velcro that holds the soft goods in place and I think this looks a lot better. 3c7788903fe4cd0a7dcfdd577c7d8f3e.jpg
