Thank you, Chopper. Will post pics once installed.

The pouches look a-ok. You might want to mount them a little lower, depending on where you armor and belt sit, but you can hold off on that until you do another try on.

Hey Chopper, thank you for the feedback.  Another step closer.

I have received all parts for the thermal detonator, but I am thinking the hose is too short, compared to pics of approved items.  How long should the tubes extend out the side for the housing.  The one I have is just about 2”. The pics look to be about 4” on each side.  Can any provide guidance?

Posted

2" may be too short per side but I'll measure mine when I get home to give you a ballpark. It seem the CRL doesn't really specify a length though. Hmm

There is no specific defined length for the tubing in the CRL -- it should be generally proportional to your body. If you look at the rear CRL photo, the length of the tubing should be just a bit inside where the webbing meets the belt.

Here’s mine. It’s about 2 3/4” on each side.

Thank you Woobie and Chopper. I appreciate the pics and measurements.  Based on the description, it seems as if the TD is really used to cover/hide the majority of the soft strap on the belt. I’ll use that as a guide.

Good Evening. It's been awhile since my last update and I have been hard at work on the Pouches, Belt, Detonator, and stiffening the cod.

I think I am closing in on being ready (these parts at least).

I humbly ask for your opinions on the current results:

As always, your guidance and critiques are appreciated.

Hi Pat. I don't really see much that might cause any major blips for basic clearance in your photos. Maybe pull the front of your belt up a little bit more. If it has a tendency to droop, which is common, you can put some velcro on your cod and belt to help hold it in place while you're trooping.

Just a suggestion, and this is really only in the CRL for Level 2, so it's your call, but your rank stripes look fairly thick. If you're going to use the thick ones with the trapezoid shape in the middle of the tank striping, then you might want to go with the 4 bar version, as opposed to 6.

The double thick stripes were only used with the 4 rank stripe/trapezoid scout that catches Leia on Endor. Again, this is a Level 2 thing, so it has no bearing on your basic clearance. Up to you!

Hey Chopper,

Thank you for clarifying the stripes and the overall progress on the build.  At this point, my goal is Level 1, but will definitely keep the tip in mind when (if) I attempt Level 2.  I will work on the velcro for the belt.  I will put it all on and take my pics for submission.  Keeping my fingers crossed.  I really thank you all for the assistance and guidance.  Hope to see you on the other side as an "official" brother.

Both placement and size look good. I think you can go ahead and rivet it in where you've got it clamped.

The ends of the holster are a high stress area on the plastic. Don't forget to use aluminum back up plates on the inside.

Hey Chopper, good evening.

I noted your concerns about the high stresses on the plastic of the holster around the rivets.  Do you have any repair suggestions if cracks have developed?

Seems they occurred around the upper rivet where it attaches near the velcro closure.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hi Pat, can you show me a photo of the outside stress area as well as the inside part of the boot as well?
