Armor Weathering 101 Help

Hello Everyone

 

Im currently in the process of wanting to lightly weather my scout armor, helmet, and soft parts. From what I understand this is a “simple” straightforward process but I’m not sure, what exactly do I need and how can it be done, a can of black paint?spay with distance? Weathering pallet? I’d appreciate any tips, tricks, suggestions I am unfamiliar with handy stuff, I got my scout costume prebuilt from RS Prop Masters and now decided to weather the armor

In short, stand back a bit and do some misting with a rattlecan, or if you have one, an airbrush. With weathering, less is more, so don't go too heavy. If you want to practice on some scrap or a paper plate, you can always do that first. And let us know if you have any questions.

Hey, I looked through the trend roughly and aware of the video tutorial not a lot to it, straight forward 

but is there a particular type/brand of black paint rattle can that will be best and how do I lightly weather the cummerbund and cod? Use the black paint as well? and same with the boots?

I used Rustoleum Painters Touch 2x flat black primer, but it doesn't necessarily need to be that specific brand.

The soft goods, bund, cod, pouches, boots are also weathered, though they should be weathered more lightly than the hard armor parts. Just a little very light misting. You really don't want to overdo it with the soft goods, as reversing it is basically impossible.

Thanks bud should be an “easy” job to do in the next armor party! If I’m not mistaken biker scouts are kinda known to be lightly weather in spots maybe some clean ones in the background hahaha
