Scout Tankplate unsymmetrical

Hello troopers,
I’m building up the armor of RWA and I’m just finding out that the tankplate is unsymmetrical. Is that supposed to be? What would you do?
Hope you can see in the picture, what i mean. 

Need some help!😇

Very few elements in the original Star Wars trilogy were perfectly symmetrical. This is before the era of 3D computer designs, after all.

The clamps are slightly in the way, but I think where you have it positioned right now, with the raised ridge along the centerline, appears to be fine.
