I’m super exited to get the build started but the instructions on the pad are somewhat vague, does anyone have any really in depth build threads, videos, or other information that would make it easier? I am also wondering what I should do for fitting the armor to myself as I do not have a heat gun and I am of a taller and slimmer build than the majority of adults (I’m 17). Any advice is appreciated! Hey there. It is a fun day when you get your kit. We are here to help with any questions you have. I have a studio creations kit as does a lot of people here on the forums. Ask questions and we can help you through the process. The SC kit is actually pretty easy. As for making it fit your frame we would need to know a little more information about how it isn't fitting. Typically you shouldn't have to heat form the kit. The straps help to get it to your size. So let the adventure begin. I have lots of pics from when I built my kit. His version is slightly older than the new one (I completed mine last year TB - 22406) but the differences are very small. As to guides, check out pretty much any Lancer build thread. The Panda build will answer most of your questions though. If you've got more, feel free to ask or message me. Aside from the helmet (I made my own) I understand how daunting it can look, but it's really quite easy once you set the time to it. Enjoy! And hold off on that heat gun. I think I...I don't remember heating anything now that I think of it. If you're not used to the output on those things, you'll find yourself buying replacement parts. BikerScout007 Posted September 30, 2021 Share Posted September 30, 2021 To echo what Troy said, put...the heat gun....down You don't need that yet and it's doubtful if you ever will. The Scout is mostly a soft costume so your fine tuning will really come with the garments. The armor pieces are held on by straps that can easily be adjusted. The Pandatrooper guide is great. It's a bit dated and some of it is not up to current CRL spec, but it will largely get you through the process. Make sure you check the requirements of the CRL at all times, because that's what your Garrison will be judging you against. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

EC-17 Holdout Blaster Posted September 30, 2021 Author Share Posted September 30, 2021 An additional question that I had was one for soft parts, I am not too proficient in sewing and do not own a machine, I bought the hard parts for the armor thinking I could make substitute with just the chest plate and arms for Halloween, making sure to keep it slow, because I will hopefully not finish in time, and I was thinking of buying the soft parts kit from imperial boots, but am unsure if I should wait until I have stopped growing, or if I should not even start on my armor until i have the soft parts done so I can have proper fitting, what do you guys think, are there any clothes that would be close enough to an actual jumpsuit that would make fitting the armor right, or should I just wait? There’s a little learning curve but you’ll save lots of money over the long run. As a dad with a 17 year old son, I would advise waiting on buying boots from a vendor. You may have a bit more growth left in those feet and you don’t want to put out +$100 for boots only to out grow them in a year or so.Pick up a pair of Kingshow work boots and make your own following Cheesewhoopy’s tutorial:http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19708-biker-scout-boots-tutorial/It’ll be a bit cheaper, help you get some experience making a costume, and if you out grow them you can either make a new pair or buy a set from a vender. Now almost a year in my fiance keeps hearing my murmurs "oh I can make/fix that!" to every garment! I just want to sew everything now haha. HI ya, Yep thats happened to me, normally I can't get the fabric out I have unscrew the plate so I don't rip it... it happens It could be a couple of things, I would start by rethreading the bobbin and even the cotton wheel on the top. If that doesn't work look at the thread you're using, is the same one as the top?. Another have changed any settings since you last used your machine?
