EC-17 Holdout Blaster
Now I am working on the belt, I am wondering how to get the rivet through the webbing material, also due to the fact that the studio creations instructions are off, I accidentally drilled two holes where the webbing connects to the belt, will probably eventually order a replacement, but I am just wondering on how to even get the rivet through the webbing for now. Chopper
Unfortunately yeah, the SC instructions are quite old and Jeff hasn't really updated them to match the current CRL. You can use an awl to punch through the webbing, or just make a small opening with an exacto knife. You don't need much of a hole to get the end of the rivet through. If you want to prevent it from fraying, you can wick the edges of the hole a bit with a lighter. And if you have any scrap plastic from your build lying about, you can make some ABS paste to repair the holes in the belt: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42866-how-to-make-abs-paste/

If you have a soldering iron that is the simplest and easiest way. Makes the hole and ‘cauterized’ it at the same time.
BikerScout007
I have a leather punch that I use to make holes in anything that needs holes. That thing has paid for itself many times over!
EC-17 Holdout Blaster
Another question, in terms of converting ROTJ scout armor (not considering soft goods) to mandalorian scout armor, are there any extreme differences, for example, are the belts identical excepting the weathering, because the CRL says that the belt fastener is attached with 1 silver rivet on the side of the plastic of the belt, whereas for the ROTJ states There are only two visible 1/8th rivets on the belt: one on each side toward the back to connect the webbing closure material to the plastic belt, this sounds the same to me, but also seems like only one rivet might be used for the mando scout? Chopper
There is only one rivet on each side of the belt for both the ROTJ and Mando scouts. Additionally, for the Mando scout, there is no narrow upper elastic on the knee armor along with no rivet.
EC-17 Holdout Blaster
Alright, thanks, if those are the only major differences in hard parts, I think I will change over to a Mandalorian scout after this, as I love the weathering that is done on it.
