Just ordered the gloves from Wampa wear. Won’t have the soft goods in time tomorrow to do test fitting as I’ll be heading out of town. After thanksgiving everything should be squared away to take pics and submit for approval!!

That's great to hear MIke. Did you order a size up on the Wampa's? They run a little small so we recommend you go a size up to be comfortable.

I did not… oops hopefully they’ll be good enough

Don’t sweat it Mike.  If they feel too snug or uncomfortable you can always remove the inner lining and you should be fine.  Some who buy WW gloves do that anyway for comfort because the lining makes the gloves a bit hot to wear during warmer and hot weather.

Thank you for the heads up! I’ve seen others do the same so hopefully it’ll help a tad bit.

It’s all good Mike and Dennis is right that if it is a bit tight you can always modify them to be a bit more comfy.

Awesome, y’all are the bomb!!

Got all the soft parts in, going to start rigging the strapping and fine tuning everything this week.

So great to see this moving along! Make sure you leave yourself some slack in the strapping for fitment once you get your armor. You’re going to have multiple layers to contend with so don’t short yourself. Keep up the great work and give us a shout of your need anything we’re here to help you be successful!

Thank you both for your encouragement and support! I’ll definitely be adding pictures and asking questions.

Hot glue on the sides and some on the top. Leave the bottom unglued with a very small gap between the lens and the front of the faceplate. This helps prevent fogging.

Cool, thank you!

I’m wanting to achieve the most amount of accuracy possible with this build. In that mindset my attention is on the eye hole/lense area.

Would it be beneficial to replace the face to get the round edges or leave it as is?

From what I can see, the biggest issue with the eyehole is the upper right and left corners, which I've marked in green. It looks like you've cut into the the ramped area along to top edge of the brow, which should be generally even along the top of the eyeslot. I don't know if there's enough material left to try and even that area out.

You might also want to even up the top edge of the visor, which I've marked in red.

Now, for basic clearance, it's probably fine, though your GML gets the final word. If you intend to apply for Level 2, then you would need to address those issues. If you want to go that route, then I would look at replacing the faceplate.

Thank you for your feedback and advice. Those are definitely the issue, I just cut way too far up and back. I’ll most likely replace it now

Made a good leap of progress on my kit yesterday!! Down to the last pieces of rigging. I’m looking forward to wearing it!

Anyone know of a good tailor in your garrison? Preferably in the US. My jumpsuit legs need to be brought in and I’d like someone experienced to do so. Hit me up if you know of anyone!

Have you called around and asked any of your local alteration shops? Bringing the legs in shouldn't be too tough a task for a shop to take care of, plus they'd be able to size it while you're there.

Mike if you’ve got access to a sewing machine tapering the legs is pretty easy to tackle yourself. I just recently talked about in my JFO build thread below. Look for the post from 12/28/21.

I tried what I thought was your instructions and I wasn’t successful. Not much experience on the sewing machine, along with needing a bigger one. For some reason the legs are just bigger than my original coverall flightsuit.

I’ll definitely put some feelers out to reach anyone local.
