Helmet Audio Help

I need a voice!  The amplified TKs made me jealous.  I did a search but I think I am using the wrong terms.  What are some helmet audio/speaker options for us?  Little volume.. distortion?

I have a 10 watt Aker speaker (which includes a headworn mic). I got a different headworn mic from Radio Shack because it was more comfortable than the included wire headband, but that does work fine.

I just ran the speaker wire under my flak vest and into the pouch where I kept my speaker. I use the same setup today for my TIE Pilot.

Some folks use wireless mics, use gadgets that make the static burst like TKs have, but I've found the amplified voice and slight natural distortion of the speaker wows folks plenty 🙂

I'm doing my research right now as we speak! So far it looks like people are happy with Voice Booster products. I'm looking into the MR1506 10watt and figuring out how to get a reliable wireless setup.

I use a wireless mic in my bucket, aker amp in my chest, and the two go between a TK Talkie for sound effects. Works well for me.

Most scouts I know use the aker set up in their pouches and with either a wired or Bluetooth headset and it works well. I wanted access to my pouches for storage while trooping so I went with Ukswrath’s audio system.

Tony does great systems for TKs and TBs that go right into the bucket. For the scout, you get a new snout piece with the speaker in the aerator and I put the battery pack and hook up in my helmet. Sound is really good. My set up is in my WIP. You will need to make a new backing plate for the snout piece, but that’s easy peasy.

Thanks for the reminder! I'm going to attempt the snout route!
