TattooedStormtrooper
Appreciate any feedback. First time suiting up in an RS build. Overall, everything feels pretty good, definitely easier than my TK. I think the cod is hanging a little low, easy enough to pull up. Also feel like I landed in between sizes on the flight suit, went with the size bigger to be on the safe side…and shoulder bells seem like they are shifting back too much. I could be way off in my observations though. I’m still learning my way around the Scout side of things. Thanks! https://imgur.com/a/Bj0eQe9
Jakeputt
Shoulder bells are a little big and need to come forward. The lancer standard if your going for that is the flak vest sleeve is 1" from the bell.
Jakeputt
Also try to pull your whole cummerbund and codpiece up and tuck under your armor, some people use suspenders, I used velcro on the bottom edge of my flak vest to attach the bund so it quit slipping. Chopper
Hi Scott, overall I think you look pretty good. The only big item that might come up for basic, and I'd check with your GML first, is the dogbone on the new Imperial Boots scout boots. There's been some recent issues that have come up in that it's more of a "flap" vs a "dogbone". See this thread regarding some of the issues and the quote below for a potential fix, if it's an issue at the local level: On 8/5/2021 at 10:49 AM, Dekard said: Hi Team, I got an update from Vincent at IB. For those that are being denied and how they can fix their boots. Hopefully, they can resize the dogbone to meet GML standards even though the measurements show it's technically dogbone shaped. https://imgur.com/a/bq20rrD So here is a quick tutorial I made this morning to help you “fix” your registration issue. The dog bone cannot be replaced because it is sewed onto the boots. Moreover the front part if glued on the instep…BUT 0. With a pencil trace a curve on the dog bone (imagine it to be a cut line) at the centre it should be about 5cm broad, both side edge of the dog bone are 8cm width. That curve will thus make the “right” shape as expected by your GML 1. Use a hairdryer to GENTLY heat the front of the doggone area - do it in several steps allowing for cooling of the leather in between or you risk to “burn” damage the leather. 2. The glue should now get loose, very gently start peeling the edge until you reach that pencil line 3. CUT the excess leather. Using small sharp scissors will work if you go slow and keep them straight ( not angled) - You can also use an exact Knife ( cutter ) BUT make sure you have a brand new blade AND be careful not to cut too deep or you will damage the leather of the shoe below. 4. If need be use a permanent white marker to cover the new edge you just exposed when cutting the leather. ( maybe borderline OCD…) 5. Use nail polish remover or glue remover spray ( please test on the excess leather you just cut off to make sure it does not contain damaging chemicals) and gently remove the excess glue still off the boot 6. The new area expose can be slightly weathered to cover any extra glue that would not come off. ( I may have overdone the example picture ) In addition, I think part of the issue with your shoulder bells is that you might need to trim your shoulder bridges a bit to fit your torso better. Once your bridges are better centered, that'll help your shoulder bell positioning. Before doing any trimming on the bridges, I would recommend repositioning the bridges by overlapping them a bit and affixing them with tape until you can find the right position. Also, it's hard to tell from where the shoulder bells are right now, but they may need to come in closer to the bridges a bit. I'd focus on getting them centered first though. Your bund should come up maybe an inch or so. You can help hold the bund in place with some velcro on the flak vest. And once the bund comes up, the belt should come up as well. Ideally, you should try to but the top edge of the belt just slightly below where your belly button is. When you put on your forearm armor, try and put them at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions, with the biceps at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. Basically, the biceps should be straight out towards your sides, and your forearms canted slightly forwards. You flight suit is a little baggy in the legs, but that's a Lancer/Level 2 issue. Unfortunately, the IB soft goods are not clearable for Lancer/Level 2, as we've found that they use either a canvas, or a twill fabric for the cod bund and faux suede for the riding patches and flap. Please let us know if you have any further questions!
