Time to rebuild this set of SC that has hit 15+ years of age. Not the best pic, but one from last month.

Starting with one of a multitude of sins... the shoulder bells look a little large to me, is there a rough top to bottom measurement?
Currently they are ~10.5' / 27cm

Currently on the to do list is

  • Replace all elastics & webbing.
  • Suit - Remove belt, add straps and saddle.
  • Belt - Rebuild TD change greeblies, add clips, change to velcro from 50mm clip to fasten.
  • Shoulder - Round Corners, change attachment, shorten ?
  • Back - Fix pinstripes, pop tank and reattach with elastic and rivets.
  • V/C/P - Shorten sleeves.
  • Helmet - Change bolts, chin cup, change front greeblie, fix decals, fix up the wear and tear.
  • Boots & Blaster - Replace

For those playing at home Armour - SC, Helmet - Altmanns, VCP - Ladyghost, Gloves - Pathfinders Run, Suit - OMP.
You cant see em but : Boots - CABoots, Blaster - Hasbro.

Your bells actually look ok in terms of proportions. I'd let them out maybe a half inch more from your shoulder bridges, round out that mid-bell angle, as well as the bottom corners, but yeah, I don't think you need to replace them unless you really want to.

If you could add one more thing to your list, may I suggest removing the rivets from your belt (the ones connecting the three belt pieces together).  You can use E6000 to glue the belt together.  Then the rivet holes can be filled in and painted.

The only rivets on the belt should be the one on each side holding the rear strapping to the hard belt.

Are you planning on doing anything with the cummerbund? It looks like you have 7 ribs with 8 stitch lines instead of 5 ribs with 6 stitch lines per the current CRL.

Thanks lads.

I'll take a swing at straightening those bells and the belt was going to be deconstructed and rebuilt.

The VCP will have to go on the list with blaster and boots replacements, i'll try to unpick the outer ribs but after this long who knows.
