KOtrooper
Wanted to mention that I made a SVG of the dog bone template. I didn't want to attempt to freehand the stitched curves... I know my limitations. Here's the link if anyone wants it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pqjowsiwert12sq/bikerScout_bone.svg?dl=0 4

KOtrooper
Starting my last big sewing project! It's crazy how fast this kit has come together. I still have fine tuning to do but that'll be a forever task.Do here's the start of the thigh patches and butt flap. Feedback? I'm going for Lancer, fyi. The butt flap is, I think, too wide... And probably too long. I wasn't sure of the back thigh patches.Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
Chopper
Hey, I made some adjustments in green based on the photos you posted. I think you're right that the back flap is too wide/long. Also, try for less riding patch on the back, and you can narrow it a bit on the front as well.
KOtrooper
Super helpful! Thanks!!Any immediate tweaks to the codpiece? So far I'm avoiding the cod crunch. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
Chopper
The codpiece looks a-ok to me. Also, this may already be on your radar, but you may want to bring in some of the bagginess in your legs a bit as well.

KOtrooper
Take two on the patches. These looking better? Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
Chopper
Yes it does look much better. Nice work. Can I ask about the bottom edges of your patches? It's hard to tell from the photo, is it rounded at the bottom or squared?

It's hard to tell from the photo, is it rounded at the bottom or squared?Technically they are rounded. I didn't pin them that well to the inside seam. Now that the outside shape is better, I'll work on the inside pattern. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
KOtrooper
Did loads of measurements and tests before I cut. Hopefully this all goes well on the first go around. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
KOtrooper
Riding patches are sewn on. Is this a good spot for the elastic strap?Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
Chopper
It's not an exact measurement or a hard rule, but the thigh straps should be approximately halfway between the belt and the knees.

I'll move forward with this placement. Thanks!Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
KOtrooper
I think I'm done with the flight suit. Not the easiest task to modify but so much easier and faster than carving the boots. For all of the sewing on this costume, I'm proud to say I didn't break a single sewing needle!Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
Retrofire
You didn't break a needle? That's awesome! The thigh straps should be snug to your thighs and not drape so you might want to do a fitting to be sure. We've seen a few that are too loose to pass. Just an FYI🙂 This is looking really amazing Melody! Keep it up!

KOtrooper
For my shoulder bell attachments, I 3D printed some zip tie anchors. Sewed them to nylon webbing that had Velcro on the back. Added a dab of e6000 for extra hold. Glued another anchor on the bell. This method, ideally, gives me some freedom to the bell placement if needed. The elastic straps just have a small strip of Velcro that connects to the fuzzy Velcro under the shoulder armor. Hopefully it holds up. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
ridersanon71
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction of the dog bone template. My next question I have is that the template is to big for my boots. I have measured from one side of the boot to the other where it will sit and it is 15cms in total. Could someone please give me advice on how to make it the right size for my boots. Thanks in advance

For reference, I printed the template out at 9.5" and my boots were 9.5 mens.
ridersanon71
How do I scale it down as I am unsure of how to do it. I have a pair of size 7 men's boots. I have a tiny foot

I have a tiny footWhen you go to print the file you should have a option to scale it up or down by adjusting the percentage in your print settings. You’ll want to drop it below 100%. I’d start at 85%. Print it. Cut the pattern out on the paper, and then test fit it over the boot. From there you just adjust the scale up or down until you get it to where you need it to be.
