Treganna's Shoretrooper Grunt build-

Treganna

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I joined here years ago, but only just catching up with this build since lockdown. I was hoping to have the costume ready for trooping last year, but a broken wrist slowed me down!

My armour is a heavily adapted Jimmi Tripon set with a Nico Henderson helmet and lots of Paul Prentice extra parts and rigging equipment, and lots of other detail parts from many sources! Just a couple of pictures here to show what I had to start with in 2016:

Painting progress. More Molotow masking marking usage. I've taken reference pictures of ALL the armour parts, which I forgot to do for the helmet. Finding the masking chips there was an interesting voyage of discovery!

Looking sharp. The painting process is always fun to see. You're almost done!

Shoulder bells painted and chipped- marking the end of most of the major spray painting. Just got the Scarif symbol to add to the blast shield.

It's easy to overdo the chipping. My first go around made my hand plate look like a chocolate chip cookie. Nice work on keeping it toned down.

I did some light passes with 80 grit on a few places to build up the damage. Gives some nice texture.

I've been looking carefully at the SU pictures, especially the grunts. Strangely, seeing the on-set pictures coming out of the Andor Blackpool shoot recently, you can tell which are the new bits of armour, and which aren't!
