Kropserkel Biker Scout Helmet build

Recommended Posts

Got the first piece of the Kropserkel helmet trimmed.  Anyone want to chime in?  I have ordered the accurate 3M bolts from Imperial Surplus and the snout greeblie from Studio Creations. I'll start on the visor next. Thanks in advance for any hints and tips.

All in all, looks like a clean trim so far. Have you already taken a look at Kropserkel's build video yet?

For clarification, when you say cutting out the snout, are you talking about trimming this part? The Kropserkel helmet has a bit of a return edge on the bottom of the face plate, as is evident in your photo. I haven't looked at a Kropserkel helmet in person in a little while, so my only concern with trimming the bottom of the face plate like in the screen used helmets would be if there's enough material on the sides to keep it structurally intact. If possible I'd try and clean it up a bit with an emory board so it's more symmetrically rounded on the bottom.

ok. progress!   I got everything trimmed better.  Instead of using stickers, I decided to pop out the sticker part and use the template as a stencil.  I trimmed it wide, put on painter's tape, wrapped it in a plastic bag, and sprayed it.  PERFECT, sharp lines.  I'm super happy with it!!!!

trying to post pics.  They are suddenly too large even though they are the same ones taken from my phone, sent to email, downloaded to laptop, then dragged to post.  Gotta figure this out.  It worked just fine on the ones above.

Great work so far, but I’ll leave it up to the armorers to give you proper feedback.

Just wanted to mention that it looks from the size of your photos that you are using the forum’s photo feature, which only has a max storage of about 500 KB. Once you hit that threshold you won’t be able to upload any pics.

Most Pathfinders use a hosting site like Imgur to insert photos or the Tapatalk app which allows them to post to the forum and upload photos through the app. Tapatalk has a free version which will more than suffice, but even their paid version is only $1.00 per month.

I only mention this because I did the same thing when I joined and started my WIP so I know not everyone is aware of the forum’s limited photo storage. The limitation helps keep cost down.

Keep up the great work.

Nice work. The ear hole and lower faceplate cuts look solid to me. Also that's some clever ingenuity for laying down the helmet details. Nice job overall.

SURPRISE!!!  My awesome family ordered me a Walt's kit for my bday!!   Should be here in about 6 -8 weeks!!  TB here I come!!!!! They got me the full kit with helmet, so I'll have a display and one for trooping.  Looking at soft parts now so when the kit comes all I'll need to do is the plastic.
