SARTrooper
Finally in the mindset for an armour day again. Let's get as much done as we can, shall we? Armour: Kropserkel Soft Parts: Supplied by a friend in Outer Rim Garrison Boots: Supplied by the same friend. Hold-out blaster: 3D printed, see note below DLT-19X: as yet undetermined, se note below A note on the hold-out and DLT blasters: There's a chance that the blasters won't make it into my final build, because of a firearms related tragedy in my family's past. Whether or not I incorporate blasters in my builds will depend on my brother's (the surviving victim of that tragedy) thoughts on the matter.
SARTrooper
Pre-today's work, things I've learned: - a narrow zipper is inefficient for holding against physical stresses - a box of parts without directions can be intimidating - the Pathfinders are a wonderfully supportive group who can deal with the intimidation - Kropserkel has a video about the build of their bucket on youtube - I was grinding with the wrong tool. I had much more success with a more aggressive tool than the sanding drum I was trying to use Now begins today's armouring. Details to follow...

SAR Trooper
Hey Pathfinders. Is this the right height for the cap? I'm feeling it should be higher, to use the curves on both pieces, but it's fighting me. Figure that's a good sign I should be asking. Retrofire
Hi Matt. The pic makes it a little difficult to size the cap height. Can you snap another shot a little further out so we can see the whole helmet? Also check out the helmet comparison thread. There are a series of shots of the KS lid from different angle that may also help.

SARTrooper
Hey everyone. Sorry for the radio silence. Short-staffed at work, tending plants for the garden, being bummed out about COVID lockdown, and taking a calculus course for the first time in over 25 years has kept me away from my scout for a while. I'm moving the plants from indoors to the garden this weekend, my calculus exam is on the 31st, our lockdown (theoretically) ends on June 2nd, and I'm getting my first vaccination jab on the 28th. The plan is that, after I turn in my exam, I'll work on getting my workspace cleaned up, and get back to work on both my scout and my stained glass. Thanks for checking the thread, everyone, and special thanks to kacrut for specifically checking in. I'm a bit overwhelmed, but still optimistic. Next check-in on or before 0000Z 01 June. Stay safe.
Retrofire
Hey no worries Matt take your time and get back to it when you can. I finally got my first shot here about a week ago and my second is the beginning of June. You just relax and take some time in garden and study your calc. We’ll be here whenever you’re ready.
SARTrooper
Quick (and overdue) update: Calculus: I did not pass my exam. I can redo it at a later date, though. Garden: 5 plants survived a surprise frost four nights after transplanting the plants outdoors. Mental health: Improving rapidly, without the stress of my exam, and with my housemate coming home from deployment. Therefore: work has begun on cleaning up my workspace. I have a few stained glass suncatchers to make before I can get back to my scout. Estimated return to working on the scout is 3rd week of June. tl;dr I was dealing with WAY too much stress, but have much less on my mind now.
