BikerScout007 Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Happy Legion New Year, Pathfinders! Seems like we were just here, doesn't it? With so many of us frozen in place due to the pandemic, the last term seems to have gone by with a blink of the eye. And although we accomplished a lot in the Detachment, with the addition of a half dozen new CRLs, the 20th Anniversary merch runs and continuing to add new members -- without trooping it took a bit of the fun away. The postponement of Celebration was also another big blow, but we look forward to 2022 when hopefully the world returns to normal. So what does that mean for the new term? As always, we are here to help you accomplish your goals. The Armor Team is as enthusiastic as ever to provide our membership with the same friendly advice for which we are known. The Virtual Armor Parties were a big success last year, and we will be continuing to offer those, with the next one coming up on March 7th. If you can join us and have questions, please feel free to stop in! The 2020 Racing shirt run was a big success so expect another one to hit around the same time this year --- September or October. And with LFL raising the cap before approval to 250, hopefully anyone who missed out on the last one will be able to acquire one this term. We still have a few CRLs to bang out this term -- the Kashyyyk Officer variant from Battlefront 2, the Treadspeeder Driver and the Mandalorian Shoretrooper Squad leader variant to name but a few. If you want to pitch in, please check out our "Costumes Pending LMO Approval" forum: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/115-costumes-pending-lmo-approval/ Every time we finish a CRL, someone comes along saying "why didn't you include [such and such weapon]??" Folks, it's not a conspiracy. If it was overlooked we are happy to add something in, but if you get involved and help us brainstorm these CRLs, we can get them right the first time. We rely on the community to help us grow! We've added improved email service and so far the results have been outstanding. And though this did add to our monthly costs, our credit reserves are still full thanks to your generous donations over the past few terms. We do have our 3-year webhosting bill coming up this June (hard to believe!) so we can evaluate at that time what our needs are. We know you won't let us down! I'd like to take this time to welcome @Minimo to the Armor Team. He will be doing what he does best: helping potential Shoretroopers achieve their goals. He did a fantastic Vanguard-class build last term that everyone interested in that costume should check out. Joe will be taking over for @ScaryGuy, who has decided to step down from the team to focus on other costumes. Theo has been invaluable since the Shoretrooper was introduced to the Detachment, not only with helping out members with their builds, but with judging level 2 applicants. His efforts will be missed, but he promised us he won't be far! And finally, we are still in need of another PR Officer, so if you are interested, please read the requirements here: So here's to the new term, and hopefully a swift return to trooping!
