AvgJoe
As a newbie around here, I’ve not got a lot of experience on builds. I’ve scanned the forums for recent info on 850AW product but I haven’t quite found the info I need. The price point is super appealing to me and I’m wondering what work would all go into a build after purchasing a kit from them? I have a friend who can help me with painting, but as far as assembly, sizing, etc. What am I not considering if I decide to purchase a black ST kit from them? Ideally and for many other reasons I’d love to own a 3D printer but budgetarily I don’t have that extra cash right now. Here’s a link to what I’m looking at: https://850armorworks.com/R1-Shoretrooper-squad-leader-style-costume-armor-kit-p145019963 Thanks in advance.
Michael_Davis26019
I myself own an 850AW kit. It all comes down to how detailed you want it. When I got my kit I built it to lvl 1 specs. It’s not a bad quality kit at all, and it turned out pretty well, the only downside to me was the collar assembly. Just me being honest if I did it over, I’d 3D print or go with imperial surplus.
AvgJoe
I think I’m just looking for a level 1 cert for now. I think that’s accurate enough for my liking.

Cool deal, I do recommend going to the shoretrooper fam group on Facebook and looking up William Ellender for a helmet though.
AvgJoe
This may be a silly question but I don’t see numbers thrown around all too often expect on the trade forums. What is a good budget range I should have available to me for a full build?

I'd say a good range for the ST kit is $1,000-$1,750.

All kits will need to be tweaked to fit your body. When you pick a particular vendor, you will need to weigh accuracy vs. price point vs. quality of pulls (sharpness of details). Keep in mind you might have to mix/match parts from various vendors. I have a Backstage Props kit but replaced the pringles can and handplates. I'm also working on a new helmet (3D printed). The 850 kit might need a lot of work on the color but, for the price point, it could be worth your time.
BikerScout007
Let's see (these are all approximate) My armor was $700 I think? Boots were $100 Pants were $120 Shirt was $200 Bucket was $500 (2nd hand Anovos) Gloves were $50 Hip armor was $150 Belt buckle was $25, the fabric to make it was about $20 Not to mention all the money spent on paints and other supplies. I'd say my build was well over $2000. Which is not all that unusual.
ST79211
My kit is about 1200$ standard approval, as said depending on, what you can make your self, some soft part can be bought cheap.

Thanks, I may have to put this one off a while and ease my way into the 501st with a Tie Reserve, but ultimate goal is going to be a Shoretrooper build.

I got in with TIE Reserve myself, got a Staff Officer, upgraded my TIE to an armoured, am working on a Clone Trooper, and now slowly working on an 850AW Shoretrooper myself, and both my clone and my shore kits I got from a fellow Garrison officer. Heh. You'll get there eventually, trust me. Take it slow, go at whatever pace you feel comfortable, and it'll come.
