SAR Trooper Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 I'm sitting here with a $560, ABS jigsaw in a box on my right, and a rotary cutting tool on my left. I'm not intimidated. Not at all. 1
Chopper Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Hey Matt, welcome. Whose scout kit did you purchase?
SAR Trooper Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 Thanks! This is my fifth costume, but first armour. Just trying to figure out the bucket, and how to best go at this. We're in lockdown, so an armour party is out of the question right now.

Also I bumped you up to 501st access
SAR Trooper Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 Whoops. Distracted response. The hard parts are Kropserkel. The soft parts I got from a 501st friend in Outer Rim Garrison. And thanks for the 501st access. 1
BikerScout007 Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Make sure you watch the Kropserkel video on their bucket: 1 1
SAR Trooper Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 OH MAN! THANK YOU! Much less intimidating now. ...not that I was intimidated. Lol 2
LTCAlex Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Hiiiiii I know you! Cheering you on my friend! ❤️ 1
Retrofire Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 You can do it! We can help! We’re here if you need so don’t hesitate to shout out!
Aradun Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Matt, you’re in good hands. When ready start a WIP and that will allow you to have a work space to post up questions, share progress and get feedback from the armorers. The armorers really know their stuff and will invaluable to you on your journey to build that Scout.
Dart Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 If I may suggest, don't use the snout sticker that comes with a KS helmet. Just paint it. It'll look better. Also, the KS has a huge return edge, so don't feel like you have to keep all of it. Good luck, fearless one!

I think you SERIOUSLY overestimate my painting abilities. :) And what do you mean by "return edge"?
Retrofire Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 It’s the thingie that “rolls” over on the edge of your armor. That’s a technical term for it. On the KS it’s rather pronounced so Chopper is suggesting that you don’t have to keep all of it. That means you can remove it with a tool of your choosing but not a halberd using a halberd might damage the overall armor but lexan scissors or a Dremel would be a good choice. Give us some pics and Chopper (who is an expert I might add) and I can give you some guidance on how to make it look striking. Psssshtt you have the painting abilities of DaVinci dude! Get some masking tape and mask off the snout and shoot it (not with a real firearm mind you) with either spray (we call that a “rattle-can”) or brush paint it with some acrylic. We’re always here to help you so let us know if we can. 2
