IB Soft Parts

I have a buddy in my detachment who is building a ROTJ scout and received his soft parts from IB. He reached out to me with some questions on how everything fits together. Easy enough. But there are a couple of soft parts that are foreign to both of us and I’m wondering if any other IB owners can provide some insight.

Here’s the bund. Straight forward. Velcro included but not attached to allow for custom fitting.

But then there two additional pieces each measuring 19” long and 11.5” wide.

Again, there are two of these. The only thing I can think of is that it sits under the bund and is used to attach the pouches via the clips and the cod via the straps. The cod does have an opening at the top to run a belt/straps through it.

I’m guessing IB does it that way to allow for a custom fit rather than fixing Velcro directly to the soft goods. Any thoughts?

Also there is an extra strap that has Velcro affixed to either side, but it’s not elastic. I thought at first that it was an extender for the cod strap which is already attached to the cod, but this piece is not elastic. Any ideas?

I have no idea what the extra bund parts could be for.

The second is the neck seal undercollar that you can see in the green screen speeder bike chase.

I received my soft parts from IB recently as well but did not receive that extra white piece. Did your friend receive these items recently? I ask because IB was doing a special during December where they throw in random special items to the orders. Perhaps this extra white piece is a special giveaway?

Chopper is correct, the last image is a neck seal.

Thanks guys, I never would have guessed neck seal. Makes sense now. As for the other parts, he probably ordered in December as he recently received them. But if the are random goods, I’ve no clue what they are to. I’m guessing he can just set them aside for now. He plans to reach out to IB once they open on 1/8 to inquire.

Just chatted with him. Definitely looks be a parts of the giveaway now. He received an orange flight suit too as part of the giveaway. Pretty sweet giveaway, random or not. I’ll be sure to post up once he finds out what they actually go to.

I’m just relieved that they aren’t a part of IB’s scout set up. It seemed waaay to complicated a set up for their soft parts.

Thanks again for the help.

Yeah, I received a helmet stand with my order. Lots of free goodies this year.

Looking at those "extra bund parts" makes think they have nothing to do with the bund. You mentioned that he got an orange flight suit too so that makes me think those are pilot gators for a rebel pilot. The gators I made for my Endor Commando look exactly like those pieces. Both the A and Y-wing costumes use that type and color of gators.
