silvergalleon
My local 501st Squad, who I had previously only been handler for, was contacted by a friend of Eric Dyck’s to say that Eric’s Kropserkel Scout Trooper nearly complete armor was being offered to the local Squad for a discounted price. An old friend of mine (and fellow Pathfinder, a Shoretrooper) picked up the armor, fixed it up a bit, and then reconsidered the build and decided to sell it to me since I had shown interest. Since I was a little kid, I’d always thought Scout Troopers were the coolest in the Empire, and with my recent efforts to build an Endor Trooper for the Rebel Legion, I knew I was ready to be a double agent in the battle for the forest moon. Included in this post is what I received, minus a few spare parts my friend included to finish repairs and alterations for updated approval standards since the costume was first submitted years ago by Eric Dyck, the founder of Stormtrooper Ranch. Pardon my less than pleasant appearance, quarantine has not been kind to me and I was too eager to put on the armor to do anything about my hair or face, but needless to say this will be a project!! Chopper
Hey there, welcome! Judging by your inverted knees, are you going for a Mandalorian Scout, or a ROTJ scout? Even though that's an older kit, for basic clearance, the hard parts of your armor should mostly be OK. You may want to replace the holster, as well as the cod/bund/pouches. Let us know if we can help in any way as your work towards approval.

To be perfectly honest, the inverted knees are a result of my own hubris as I used to wear medieval armor and that’s the direction my knee cops went that were a similar shape. I wasn’t looking at reference while putting it on and that’s my fault. That being said, as much as I’d like to be an ROTJ Trooper, I recognize this armor has some authentic battle damage from years of service, and thus may not be able to be restored to a “shiny, Vader-Inspection-Ready” state, so I may have to make it into a Mando “Post-Imperial” Scout. The goal is always Lancer clearance of course, but I know it’s in kind of rough shape at the moment. The current plan is to alter the existing kit to fit me as much as possible and if it’s still too rough to pass, then to start working on replacing things. Current focus is on making the undershot fit better, then moving on to the boots and bund. I really appreciate all the support people have offered and when I think of the right questions to ask, I’ll be sure to reach out, thank you so much! Aradun
Don’t sell yourself short on the ROTJ option. Many scouts, myself included, have weathered their armor as opposed to going all shiny parade style white, so you may be able to mask some of your “authentic battle damage” from years of wear and trooping with a little weathering. Keep your options open and as you get further into your build you’ll figure out what will be best for you. We’re here to help ya succeed.
