RS Props

Considering purchasing the RS Biker Scout helmet for my build. It looks very detailed. Just curious on others' opinions before I go dropping the money. Also looking for the rest of the armor. Was maybe thinking about mixing it up with different vendors. Say Studio Creations for the armor then maybe RS for the Helmet. Any input would be appreciated. This is my first build so wanna make sure I don't make any mistakes I will regret.

RS is indeed the best scout helmet you can get.

Let me ask this though -- is there a reason you're going with a diff vendor for the rest of the armor? There are a lot of good vendors, don't get me wrong, but if it's a matter of cost, fit, or vendor location, then that might help guide our answers for you.

Would a RS + SC combo be approvable? Yes indeed. Sometimes though, different vendors use different shades of ABS, vs paints, which can lead to a bit of a mismatch between the helmet and the armor -- that can sometimes be more or less of an issue, depending.

Keep in mind too that while RS is probably the most costly of options out there, they do ship it completely assembled, so the price is worth it IMHO. You’ll only need to make minor tweaks to ensure proper fit, and if you’re planning to shoot for Level 2 - Lancer Certification (and I hope you do down the line) there are only very minor changes that need to be made.

I have an RS Red Label bucket with the weathered (dirty option) armor and am VERY pleased with the look and construction. Can’t go wrong.

I has RS as well - they are certainly the priciest, but it's the most accurate (it has lineage!) and they do a lot of the hard work for you.

Their soft goods (Imperial Boots) are not the most accurate but for level 1, they'll do.

I have the exact combo you are asking about. SC armor with RS helmet. I did repaint the helemt to match my armor.

The color was off considerably before the repaint.

Wow, The repainted helmet looks amazing. You did a really great job!

Mind me asking how you went about repainting it and what type of paint you used for it?

I just asked him this last week on a PM thinking no one would want me clogging up the post with it, very helpful guy.

I've purchased scout lids from three different suppliers. It's hard to compete with RS on the lid front. With regards to RS the only I problems I had were with the helmet lining (due to the size of my large head - 24 inch circumference), it pressed on my temples giving me a headache within minutes of putting it on let alone troop with it. This is easily remedied either by removing it, or requesting a helmet without it. The second problem I had was RS seem to favour an off white colour, where as most other suppliers prefer a gloss white. This wasn't really a problem, I just requested a gloss helmet instead of the regular colour and they happily obliged.

I just removed the hard hat liner and replaced with helmet pads.  I'm 23 3/8ths so I feel your pain!
