BikerScout007
First, I want to thank Gio for sending over this evaluation pair. The gloves are a very nice quality; the leather is soft and supple and the inside padding is nice and thick. Great for keeping your hands warm on a cold troop, maybe not so great if you live in a warmer clime. But our Scouts often remove the lining from their gloves so this shouldn't present a problem for anyone either way. Now the question is often asked "But how do they compare to Wampa Wear?" I think the more appropriate question is "How do they compare to the original Esprits?" Here a picture speaks a thousand words: Esprit Rain Gauntlets on the outside, Crowprops on the inside. I should note that the Esprits are an XL and the Crowprops gloves are a Large. Still, there are some inaccuracies that pop out right away: 1. The Crowprops gloves are a bit short in the Gauntlet area, hopefully Giovanni can add some more length to future patterns. 2. The pouch is missing from the gauntlet area, which given how short the gauntlet area is, might be hard to add with the pattern as-is. 3. The Crowprops glove features elastic in the wrist area which is not present on the originals. 4. The palm stitching pattern, while close, could be improved. That "swirl" on the palm extends up the thumb on the Esprit glove; that is lacking on the Crowprops. So in summary: The Crowprops glove is a nice, comfortable glove for any Scout looking to achieve basic level approval. But it does not quite meet the accuracy threshold for a Lancer application.
