DieGlocke
Hi everyone. I recently got my first kit from RS. Everything about is great but i want to resize the helmet because it is a little big on me, which is surprising because i have a decently large head lol. Anyway, i was thinking on getting some type of winter helmet pad/liner to wear on the inside of my biker scout helmet to make it a tighter fit. My question is, does anyone have any suggestions or experience about resizing the inside of their helmet? Thanks! Aradun
What Nathan suggests is the easiest way to go. You can get a nice custom fit by playing with the various pad sizes and positioning them for max comfort. A simple search on Amazon will give you a bunch of options and price points. The other way is to go with the headband kit found here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/10270-fs-accurate-tb-helmet-hardware-kit-headband-kit/ It’s a matter of preference. Some scouts like one but not the other.

Retrofire
Folks also use various hardhat suspensions as well. That’s what I have in my bucket.
BikerScout007
My RS came with a hard hat liner but I removed it because it was giving me headaches. I went with helmet pads and they've been great these past 5 years! Not sure what size head you have, but I am 7 3/8s (60cm) and the RS has been a really good fit!

Although my helmet has a fabric liner so it may be a bit more difficult to removeSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chopper
Oh, you must have the red label version? How's the hard hat liner affixed on the red label version? Photos?

Aradun
I have the red label RS helmet too, but I find the fit to be fine without any headband or additional padding. The liner is padded with foam though nothing thick but it’s comfortable.I would advise strongly against removing the padding and liner. The helmet is lined only because it is fiberglass and you don’t want that stuff exposed around your face.
Chopper
Gotcha, thanks for the photos. You don't need to remove the liner. If you need additional padding to help secure the helmet on your head, you might be able to sew some hook side velcro to the standard helmet pads mentioned above, which hopefully should grab the interior lining.

I may try to put another thin padded helmet liner inside because i do prefer a snugger fitSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
