Here is the current list of parts ordered for my Scout Trooper build.  I have researched and come to the conclusion that these suppliers offered the best options for my build. Order/Receive dates will be included for an overall idea of these vendors turn around times. Updates/Reviews of the ordered parts to follow as they trickle in.

**I did read about the past issues that KriptonTop had on the forums years ago! However, judging by his current stellar feedback & product reviews from his Esty store, & his soft parts being custom tailored to fit my exact dimensions, I went that route. I have a pretty non-standard fit type, so this is pretty important to me. It seemed a majority of the issues was with the shipping times or communication vs. the quality of his work, so I made sure to include Tracked FedEx as the delivery option with a Paypal Buyers Protection backup.

Thanks Everyone!

Looks like you're off to good start Nathan. There are a lot of options available for your boots. As you're in Tucson looks like we're going to be in the same Garrison, I'm up in Scottsdale, and you'll be with the Jundland Wastes Squad. You're off to a good start with your WIP thread so keep us updated and if you need any help or have any questions post them up. We're here to make you successful!

First part of the build arrived today (Ukswraths Audio System), looks great but I am a ways out being able to use it.  So for now, it's box #1 on the self of goodies!

Hey Nathan..!  I also went with Ukswraths Audio system and have a ‘mini-tutorial’ of how I went about installing the engine/mic portion of the snout greeblie.  Not sure about the Altmann setup, I know different armorers have different greeblie configurations but I have a Studio Creations kit and the greeblie came all in one piece (engine, mic, and backplate) which required some power tools to dismantle prior to installing the new audio greeblie.  I’m not tech-savvy enough to link my thread, but the steps I took, along with photos are located at Odds ‘n Ends WIP pics from Omaha.

For some reason Flickr’s decided to take a couple photos down from that thread, but the one I wanted to add back in is the first pic of how I removed the original engine/mic portion of the S.C. greeblie...

Altmann's is 2 separate pieces, The backing plate and the snout greeblie.  He is leaving the parts separated and unmounted for me, so it should be a fairly simple install.

Even better!!  If you get to installing the battery pack inside the helmet before I do, lemme know your setup..!  I’m thinking I’ll want mine Velcro’d to the inside of the top of the dome toward the front so I can run the mic wire just around the lens to accommodate, but I haven’t gotten that far yet...  I’m still figuring out the best way to configure the mic and insulate it enough to cut down on (or eliminate altogether) the probability of feedback as the mic inside sits only an inch or two away from the speaker

It has been over 2 decades since I have worn armor.  There are a ton of new products and parts that we didn't have back in the late 90's.  But if my memory serves me correctly, when we added our audio stuff to the TK helmet, as long as the mic was hard mounted in the helmet, we didn't have any feedback or noise issues.  But like I said, it was a long time ago and parts have changed since then. I am going to modify the kit I think, i prefer a push to type option.  No one wants to hear an allergy sneeze in stereo surround sound hahaha.

Hell, I remember that we made the TK static burst noise by simply blowing a short burst of air into the microphone mounted to our helmets after we spoke... and it actually worked really well.

on top of that, they probably have better in-helmet audio systems now than they had sound equipment back in the late 70’s recording the dialogue of the filmed troopers anyway!!! 😂

Gloves arrived yesterday from Wampa Wear!  Great looking replica of the original & they fit me like ...... Well..... Like a glove 🤣

I had a recent (yesterday) family emergency come up, my mother has been diagnosed with liver, bone, lung, and possible brain cancer.  I am making arrangements now to move back home from Arizona. Until I get home, and assist my family, my build will be put on hold until further notice.  I am just trying to contact the venders I purchased parts from to have them rerouted to my parents house to avoid having them lost forever.  The move will take a little time, so parts that are done, or close should still be able to come here for now.  But plans to complete the build are now on hold for now.

Thanks for letting us know, man.  Family first.  Plastic spacemen can wait.  We'll be here when you return.

We wish your mother the best and May the Force Be with all of you.

Looks like my soft parts from KriptonTop are in the mail and slated to arrive at my parents house back in Oregon in a week. Looking forward to seeing them.

My soft good from KriptonTop arrived today at my parents house back in Oregon. I will be packed and heading that way to assist my family in this time of need. I will inspect, try on, and give you my thoughts when I get settled in.

As for buying them from KriptonTop, so far it has been a pleasant experience with only a small week delay from the promised quoted completion time on his Esty page.  Only parts waiting on are my boots from Cheesewhoopy and my helmet and armor from Spike.
