MAD1_TK45001
Well... I guess it's time to get off the sidelines and start my built. So my question is 1. what's do you all recommend plexi dip or flat black paint the inside of the bucket? 2. do you paint first then put together the bucket or glue bucket together then paint? any and all advice is much appreciated! Thanks in advance! -MAD
Chopper
You can paint or plastidip the interior of the bucket black if you want. Some people do that, but the original helmets weren't painted black on the interior -- they just put some black gaffer tape near where the ear holes where. If you choose to paint or plastidip the interior black, I'd do it after assembly. The faceplate is easily removable and it's easy enough to mask the edges. Plus glue tends not to adhere as well to paint over plastic.
CRex75
Exactly what Chopper said. I've used plasti dip on several helmets and in my opinion, it's best to do it as a last step.

troygordon2
I seem to be the only person who dislikes plastidip and it's tendency to peel. If you want something permanent, try truck bed liner. The cost is about the same, and it also adds reinforcement to the materials it's applied to.

You can usually find it at any hardware store alongside the plastidip. Lowes and Home Depot (I assume you're in the US) or any auto parts store will have it on hand.
