MrNoHolster
So I've decided to start a Scout build but fancied something a little different... the remnant Scout as seen in the Mandalorian. I understand the CRL is still in the draft stages but I think there's enough reference material out there to make a start. Here goes! I've received my helmet kit from RWA which is stunning. Here's a few pics of my build progress... And now finished and ready for weathering... I've decided to make my own cummerbund and cod piece after reading some tips and tutorials from the Pathfinders forum... Started on the weathering which is beginning to look really nice. The draft CRL states 'Moderate to heavy Sandtrooper-style weathering'. Just need to do a clear coat to seal it then that's the lid done.

MrNoHolster
Just looking at the Thermal Detonator - my kit came with some nice metal clips although looking at the screen reference it seems to attach with standard black cable ties.
Aradun
You're build is really coming along Gareth! With regard to the TD, good eye! I can't help but wonder if some of these variations were merely quick costume fixes to address issues during filming. It looks like the zip tie is applied to the right side of the TD only in the photo you provided. I for one can't wait for the CRL for this costume to be approved so we have details nailed down at least for basic approval. It'll be interesting to see how Level 2 certification develops with all these little variations caught on film. Looking forward to seeing your progress on this build. You may attach with either method!
MrNoHolster
Does this look right before I glue the ends of the drop box webbing to the belt?
BikerScout007
That looks about right to me. These dropbox straps on the show seems to have a bit more slack in them than the ROTJ Scout.
MrNoHolster
Managed to get the majority of the weathering done - starting to come together at last!

MrNoHolster
Is the position of this okay before I glue it down?
Aradun
You’re good! You may want to paint it first before attaching it so that it’s easy to handle.

MrNoHolster
Blaster finished... think I'll probably do some weathering on this so it fits in with the style of the costume better. [/url]
MrNoHolster
Hi guys - I'm trying out a method for the chest / back / bell strapping so just wondered if this was okay? Basically I'm connecting the shoulders together with hidden poppers and black webbing which I've made into a T shape to also attach the bells. It'll all be hidden of course and should be a good way of keeping the gaps minimal as per the reference shots from the show. Hoping to do a full kit-up soon! MrNoHolster
First time kitting up... all seems to fit like a glove and I'm really happy with this so far. Just a few tweaks to do and get some proper clearance pics taken. Think I need to paint the chest recess grey but that's about it?
Retrofire
Looking really good Gareth! You’re correct in that you will need to paint not only your chest indent but don’t forget your drop box indents as well. On a minor dressing note make sure your forearms are on top of your gauntlets and not in them. Might want to weather your drop box straps a little as they look shiny and new contrasted against your great weathering on your armour. Looking at your back picture I noticed that you have strapping around the TD tube. Is this a tweak that you mentioned in your post. This isn’t on the CRL model so I thought I’d ask. Always good to use the CRL as your checklist to make sure you’ve addressed everything. Really well done! https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Scout-Trooper-The-Mandalorian

MrNoHolster
Thanks Retrofire. Yes those zip ties are screen accurate as they're present on the show. I'll work on those tweaks and hopefully post up more soon.
