RS helmet lens cracked..help

The lens on my RS helmet has cracks so I'm looking to replace it with the usual welder's lens.

But it looks like RS hot gun glued the lens in.  Anyone know a good way to remove the glue?

You can't just pull it out?  Usually with enough force, hot glue will just come off.

It's hot glue, so you could carefully heat the inside a bit with a hair dryer. That might looser the glue enough to remove if it won't come off otherwise.

ok..thank you guys for the tips! and when I put the new one on..do you guys use a glue gun to secure the lens?  doesn't seem like a good idea as it can warp the abs right?

My RS lens fell out after a very hot troop in Palm Springs. I think it got to 115 that day!  I scraped out the old hot glue with my thumb nail and just glued the lens back in with fresh hot glue. Its been there ever since.... Going on 4 years.

Be careful with the heat. Even though the RS bucket is made with thick plastic, it can still warp.

If you can't get it off with heat, use cold. take the faceplate off and put some ice packs on the inside and chill the glue so it just cracks off.
