mickeymark34
I have been working on closing the gap on my helmet. Last night I added a second application of Devcon. I was just working on sanding it down. I was looking for feedback on my progress. Is there anything I can do to smooth it out more without using the Devcon? Stroker
The imperfections are hard to get away from. Your gonna have to add more devcon in order to fill in as many imperfections as possible. That's about all you can do it apply, sand, repeat.
Chopper
None of those imperfections are structural, so I think you're at the point where you can start sanding it flush. You can spray it with some rustoleum filler primer to help fix the surface imperfections and then sand again. https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-Automotive-260510-12-Ounce-Sandable/dp/B006ZLQ4HQ
mickeymark34
Thanks guys. I just ordered that paint. It won’t be here until May 8th, so I have time to sand it flush.
Stroker
Devcon is kinda a pain to work with. I've used it on over 10 helmets. Both 5 piece helmets and cap and back style helmets. It tends to leave more pits and imperfections than bondo and other fillers. However it's the best I've found and the only thing I'll use for a helmet.
