Ok so, I know I am a overweight for my height and age. 189lbs I'm 5' 10.5

However, after my test fit of my TB ...geez I look like I have been eating too many ewoks!

Does anyone else have this issue of the costume "adding weight"? Yes I need to lay off the crap I eat and drink, and need to get out and start running again....but still. Any tips on wearing the costume to look more slimming?

These are from my test fit this evening. Still have lots of adjustments and fixes to do. (Like the belt boxes)

Anyway any thoughts or tips is greatly appreciated.8eef7fa4be199c85d04ae45539e81df8.jpga61af44eb7019d0677eeb52175cfc23b.jpg

You look great first of all. Were all diffrent shapes and sizes. The scout tends to make you slouch in turn it makes the stomach stick out a bit more in costume. Also your pouches are kinda big for your size. You down size them to the correct size and pull the belt up where it should be and your gold. I touched on that in your build thread.

HI ya Phil I agree with Tim you look fine.... and Trust me being under 5 foot had its challengers.

Your Pouches do concern me, the flap also doesn't sit right, the end of the flap over should connect to the bottom...here I will show you in a pic

That maybe your issue, so resizing maybe a tad smaller and fix the flap, then take another look

You’re about the same height and weight as me. I don’t have a scout costume, I’ve got a TK and Officer, and am working on a Shoretrooper. Trust me, kids don’t really care. They just see a Star Wars character.

If it really bothers you, and losing girth is a challenge (it sure as eggs is for me), a male corset or girdle might be an option.

Hey Stroker!
So I took your advice and wow! What a difference just in the look of the pouch! In the photo, the pouch on the right is the original size (which I bought from a Garrison member) and the left is after I trimmed it down. Plus now the flap actually reaches the bottom of the pouch!879fdd62085ccb28e3d5d7143863e5c0.jpg

These are a little tougher to make than I thought.975e4a21723a4dfeb1adb52f2176e6c4.jpgbd4ba30566f4b5c5ddd6611dfa9e2b7d.jpg

Looking much better size wise, they’re a bugger to make not my favourite thing to do.

not sure if you said they are a mock up? Though you need to loose the sew lines. Match the make of the previous pouch (sewn then turned inside out), though with your own measurements and design.

It looks to me like your pouches are missing the attachment tabs at the top and that your flap is not a single piece. The bottom of the pouch should be in line with the bottom of your bund and the top of the attachment tabs should be in line with the top of you bund.

Bikerscout007 has detailed info on the pouches including a pattern for sowing the pouches.

Removed the seam so now it's one piece.
Question:
The tabs on the back. Can I just attach them to the back? I'm actually going to try and Velcro the pouch to the bun but have the tab extending under my chest to make it look as if it attached to it or the bun.ea49e0f130864c89a9fcc844f691e31b.jpg

As long as it appears as it does on screen. You'll be fine.

They’re really coming together now. What a difference from your originals! Wait till you see the difference once you suit up.

Sorry this is what I meant... no stitching to be seen on the front panel of the pouches.

i know it doesn’t point this out in the CRL.

the original pouches do not have it

Oh ok.... I see. Well, once all this covid crap is over I will get new material and make new pouches. For now it will have to do.

Did another test fit tonight. Of course I only had the assistance of my 10 yr old daughter to help with suiting up and photos, hence why my bun is all jacked up under my tank...ugh
Anyway, still need to add my holster and butt flap, make some adjustments, make new pouches.
But... getting closer65fba5eb270a6efe70001171455412c7.jpg08f611e35bc5ec1d0fee354a043e1c08.jpg49c88c7389de5a0352fe875a54169d4f.jpgd6a5144a3bde82ce75f374416b374619.jpg

Your cooking now! As was stated you take care of the stitching on the flaps and I'd call the pouches done! Great job!

Update:
I started over and made new "off white" pouches with the dimensions of 5x6x2
Then I made new new bun and cod from a very fancy table cloth that I aquired recently which is made from a high end polished cotton!! It's very soft and light. Way more comfortable than duck canvas. Plus helps keep things looking slim and not like a marshmallow.

Looking good. If your gonna have off white pouches the drop box strapping and chest and back strapping needs to be off white also. I'm sure you already knew that. Keep it up.

Any tips on dying the existing straps off white or where one can find new off white straps?

Or should I just stick with white pouches and weather?
