Harbinger
No mention in the CRL of how the rear portion of the straps attaches to the belt. Most build threads seem to be using snaps. Is that the best method? Do we know how the films did it? Thanks.
Stroker
I sewed mine. Others use snaps or rivets. I can't recall if we ever found out how they actually connected the drop box straps to the belt. @CatfoodRob might. I know we talked about it years back, but I can't recall on what some of us agreed on.
Chopper
I used snaps for mine. Helps when your straps get horribly twisted in your bin and you need to sort it out quickly.
CatfoodRob
I used Velcro . It's one detail I don't think has ever come to light . The routing of the strap through the drop boxes is far more important ... it twists a half turn inside the front of the belt , and inside each drop box , holding the drop box in position.
Jakeputt
I used a rivet to attach the drop boxes to the belt, then i used velcro to attach the belt in the back.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
MrsPoopie
Keep in mind where the strap will attach in relation to where your clips for your TD are. I've helped some scouts who have that snap part overlap their TD clips and putting your TD on becomes a very deliberate process (or the TD is offset and not centered). Harbinger
From another thread: Unrelated but if this pre-production picture is representative of the final version looks like they riveted the dropbox strap to the belt in the back. Hmm...
