clayorrnot
Just clicked the button on ordering myself an SC armor kit and I'm super stoked and I want to start zero'ing in on the rest of the stuff so I can once again start saving up. Anyone have any recommendations for which holdout blaster works best with SC holsters? Just looking for some info on which ones fits that mold the best! Thanks in advance! Chopper
The SC holster is sized for the hyperfirm scout blaster, which is oversized, compared to the others out there. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/18225-ultimate-scout-pistol-comparison-thread/ I use a darth voorhees (DVH) blaster with my SC kit, and using the integrated magnets, it holds in just fine.

That is exactly the same setup I have. Works like a charm!
clayorrnot
Awesome! That is exactly what I'm looking for. Excited about the SC kit and I wanna get kicking on the fundraising for the rest of everything so I can be ready by Dragoncon. Hopefully this corona-stuff won't go and get that cancelled. clayorrnot
Anybody know how to get ahold of Hyperfirm? The facebook message thing just doesnt work. Tried emailing a week ago. Anyone got any tips? Do they just do limited runs or am I just being impatient? haha
Chopper
Hyperfirm went out of business maybe 2 years ago. You may be able to purchase one of their blasters second hand though.
clayorrnot
Well damn. That explains it. Guess I'll be on the lookout for something comparable.
Chopper
You could always post a WTB thread here, and see if anyone is interested in selling one: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/155-trade-forum/
Stroker
Also keep check on the RPF. They pop up over there often.

Do you happen to have any pictures of you magnet setup? I don't have DVH yet but I"m not sure how to magnetize my new sc holster in preparation for it
Chopper
I glued a neodymium magnet on the inside of the plastic, but it's difficult to show without me removing my holster from my boot. You can get the general idea in pandatrooper's thread below. I didn't cut my magnets through the plastic though. I also recommend you hold off until you get your blaster before gluing anything as it'd be difficult to mount the magnets properly otherwise.
