Minimo
Hiya! I am a recent 501st member (Nov 2019). My first cosume was a TI due to it’s ease of build and character flexibility. However, My heart has always been with the ST. I have decided my first armor build will be the ST Captain! I am starting this build thread with the hopes of getting some constructive criticism as I move forward, thank you BTW! I have already acquired and started the process for some items, but this is my over all plan: Bucket: Niko Henderson (3d)Armor: Imperial Surplus-KW (ABS)Shirt: Sheev’s EmporiumBreeches: Steven WalkerSkirt armor: Paul PrenticeGloves: Endor findersBelt: Imperial Issue (Rob Kittell)Belt Boxes: Paul PrenticeBoots: Orca BayCartridges: Paul PrenticeAmmo Pouch: Found some in a military surplus store (Etsy) Here are some pics of my helm. Not sure if I want to weather a bit more… Thoughts? Also, the emblem has not been painted on yet (that’s just decal), need to order that spicy color. Aradun
Joe, I’m not too familiar with the ST CRL, but just wanted to chime in to say that the weathering on your helmet looks fantastic! I really like that chipped paint effect you have in places. Nice job brother! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ScaryGuy
Welcome Joe! Weathering looks great, I think you should leave it as is. One note: that extra ridge around the lens opening should be black. If you have the shirt form the dark side closet, you need to be aware that it might not be approvable. The vertical ribs below the neck seal have to be the same color and fabric as the horizontal ribs on the rest of the shirt. The Dark Side Closet still has been using black vertical ribs, not sure if they already have corrected this. The shirt is also very light grey whereas the CRL requires a dark grey. I plan on eventually submitting for Vanguard status, so I truly appreciate the shirt advisory and observations. I reviewed some of the pics DSC provided and it appears your assessment still stands. Will do some research and see who makes a more accurate shirt, might still go with DSC for the pants though... As far as the black helm ridge, I'm on stand by until I get the lens from Mr. Paul, which I believe integrates the black ridge. If so, I will sand mine out! Thank you very much!!
Minimo
Ok, I am in between Imperial Boots and Sheev’s. Sheev’s looks like it might be higher quality but leaning more towards IB just because it looks easier to put on...LOL. Do you guys think I would have any issues with IB? ThxSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Minimo
Hey all! Hope you are all in good health. I finally got most of the pieces for the build. I had a question. My height is around 5’7” and not sure if I should shorten my shins... I would prefer not to, it may beyond my current skill lvl. Here is a pic, what do you guys think?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BikerScout007
Those don't look too long to me. Are they uncomfortable to walk around in?
Minimo
I don’t think so, it was hard to tell since I was being overly careful because they were being held together with painters tape... They were definitely right at the knee... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Minimo
Hey guys, hope all is well. Made a lot of progress today. I had a question regarding the back armor. Do I need to cut out the shape in yellow or do I just need to paint it black? Also here are some of the progress pics: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Aradun
Dude, your weathering techniques are phenomenal! Helmet, boots, leather, belt boxes all look fantastic. Your attention to detail is excellent. I’m saving this thread for reference down the line, as the ST would be my next build once I finish the scout. When that time comes, I’m definitely reaching out to pick your brain. TK8271 Rogue Trooper
Ref your back armour , yes it needs cut out , then there should be a sealed box area behind it on the inside , also a ridged rise in the outside going around the edge Just box off the inside with inch or half inch depth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Minimo
Hey guys! What’s the verdict on the color for the bottom portion of these greeblies. I have seen several discussions where peeps go back and forth (black or brown?). I was thinking of doing brown with the inside of the vents black. Any issues? TK8271 Rogue Trooper
The CRL states black or brown, due to the many photos showing both, but personally I think the brown look is due to the coloured light conditions so I went with blackSent from my iPad using Tapatalk

KOtrooper
Strapping is looking good! You need to remove the elastic band on the shoulder bells though. Shoretroopers don't have those.Sent from my SM-T290 using Tapatalk
