Hey all,

As discussed I'm working my way through the Scout build.

This is a Chef Creations armour kit and soft parts with Wampa Wear gloves and an RDR blaster and DLT-19.

Everything else.......

I've already taken in the overalls and reduced the size of the bund.

This was the first test fit.

- The best needs to be level all the way around the bottom of the bund.

- The bund itself needs to sit higher to pull the pouches up so they sit flush with the belt. This will also tighten the cod.

- Weathering across the armour and boots.20200209_164749.jpg20200209_164758.jpg20200209_164737(0).jpg20200209_164805(0).jpg

The first test fit is always a good time, isn't it?

Like you said, bund and codpiece need to come up some more.  Pouches need to be switched.

Snip those clips off the gloves.  Carefully, of course!

Looks like it's coming together!  Can't wait to see more.

Not a huge amount to update. Moving along with the lid.
The spray painting is completed (finally.)
The decals have been added.
The snout area painted.
The snout then glued on.
Fitted a helmet liner.

Tomorrow will be fitting together the visor and the main helmet for weathering (still not 100% confident with this.)
Then gluing in the lens.

I'll also be weathering the main armour and boots.

Mapping out the ear vents. I'm using the screen used pic that's used across various WIPs as a guide. The vents are always bigger than I imagine.

Anyone see anything glaringly obvious before i fire up the dremmel?44707ca3275b5e87a4cb82fdb3c2277b.jpg9939a47b927270b7d0f7f022eab6f540.jpg

I think you pretty much nailed it with your pencil marks. Good work.

Overall shape is good. You could lower it a little bit more towards the bottoms, but not by much.

Fantastic. On it.
Weathering is scary.......

Then lens glued and done.

Great work, Chris. Love the dog in the photo too, hah.

I have three small suggestions for you --

1) Raise your cod up, maybe an inch or an inch or two. By bringing it up, you'll get rid of the cod crunchie effect. You might also want to put some reinforcement material behind it, so it doesn't bunch up as much.

2) Your pouches are a bit close together. You might want to push them out, so that they sit approximately 1 inch from the outermost cummerbund rib on each side.

3) Your biceps are on backwards. The two "rivets" on the greeblie should face forwards. Just swap out your bicep armor and you should be ok.

Easy stuff. Overall, good job dude!

Cool. Thanks for the quick reply.

I'll kit up again tomorrow with the changes suggested.
- The cod I can move up under the front of the bund and at the back.
- I'll move the pouches out onto the edges of the Velcro on the bund.
- annoyed that I missed the biceps! Rookie error!

Thanks again!

Chris

Pouches need to be switched.

Chris, looks like your pouches still need to be switched.

Evening all, I've taken into account the feedback above, which I am massively grateful for, and hopefully made the changes.

- Moving the bund elastic down has meant I can move the whole bund up which gives a better cod position.

- The pouches have been moved out to show the ribs and been swapped over.

- The biceps have been swapped over.

Dude, I love your work ethic. You knocked that stuff out in 24 hours. Kudos!

I think you may need to move your pouches out a bit more. It looks like they’re sitting on the seam of the last rib on either side. They should sit 1” out from that seam.

The main issue I see is still that cod piece. You need to think of it as a piece of armour , flat against your crotch , not tucked under .

If you raise the bit that goes about your waist up an inch or more , that will lift the lowest edge up , so it doesn't tuck under so much .

Also, the side drop boxes need to be an inch to inch and a half down from the belt , yours are too high .

Keep up the good work .

Thanks Rob, really appreciate the quick reponse!

I'll lower the elastic strap down even further at the back and raise it up higher at the front under the bund. Hopefully that'll resolve the issue.

Cheers!
