Attatching the suede butt flap

So if I understand everything that I have come across, when sewing on the butt flap, it is only across the top. It's not attached to the fightsuit anywhere else? it just hangs there (With the on strap for the cod piece holding it on? Just want some clarification before I go to far with this (Can't do it until the weekend anyways, my sister has my suede)

That's correct, the suede is only sewn to the flight suit along the top edge, which is concealed under the belt/bund.

Suede won’t fray like fabric that is not seamed. No need to seam the edges. It’ll be fine in its natural state.
