Frank75139
I’ve got a troop this weekend so I checked to make sure everything is good to go and found my helmet is a bit warped. The area that curves in to the cheeks has warped and is now really tight. The helmet was stored in the bin upside down with the coveralls laying on top of it so there wasn’t much weight. I wore it in December and had no issues. It’s considerable tighter around the cheeks now and is even digging in to me. I’ve lost weight since then so I do t think it’s a weight gain issue. It’s always been a bit crooked when it comes to the sides but this is a lot. Any idea how to un-warp this? BikerScout007
Did you try gently heating it with a heat gun?
Chopper
Yeah, either very gently with a heat gun, or you could try dipping the part into boiling water until you can move it back into place.

Is it hot enough?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Frank75139
I cut some PVC pipe and decide to let it sit like this for tonight. If it doesn’t help I’ll try heating it up and going from there. Struck me as odd, is this a common thing or is it just me? I’m curious if I need to adjust how I pack it to try and not have this happen again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But maybe the weight of the flight suit on that side pushed it down. You could try a hair dryer though Im not sure it would get hot enough. Boiling water is also an option, as Chopper said. I would invest in a heat gun though. They are inexpensive and come in handy for all sorts of things.
Frank75139
So things went from almost better to worse today. The pipe seemed to spread the chin area out but after a while it looks like it is curving back in again. I was going to try some hot water but I noticed a decent size crack, completely unrelated to anything. It’s on the front and is probably from pulling the front part up. I’ve currently started to reenforce where the crack is and I think it should work fine. On the off chance it doesn’t can anyone recommend a decent helmet maker that’ll sell a completed bucket, weathered would be awesome as well but I’m not going to push my luck. pvicta
FrankI've got one of Spike's helmets, and if he hadn't popped up, I'd have suggested himI've had my bucket for around 3 years, been using it for 2, and the only issues I've had are self inflictedSpike has also provided "after sales service" on the resolution of the issues, long after any normal warranty would have expiredIt's light, balanced and can take a reasonable beating in the course of troopingI've compared it to others, and to be honest, when (if) this one goes to the big forest in the sky, I'll be sourcing another to replace itAll photos in my tour of duty are SC armour, Altman helmetPaulSent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
