Balaclava

Its part of the crl. Your neck and chin might show without it. That looks like a good option.

The balaclava is needed.  Your neck, chin and other parts of your face will be seen without it.  Remember, kids are much shorter than we are!   I forgot my balaclava at one of my recent troops and I just remember kids saying "I CAN SEE YOUR BEARD!" 

I bought a cheap balaclava when I first got approved, but I found after a few troops I wanted something that could breathe better and threw down the money for an Under Armor

Cool, thanks. I went ahead and bought my cheap one. Maybe someday I'll upgrade, but this ought to suit me just fine for now.

Be careful a lot of those reviews say how warm it is.

It goes mostly down to the intersection of my neck to my shoulders, well enough under the under suit's collar to ensure that no skin shows. It's thin and stretchy but I have not had an opportunity to test how well it works as "heat gear" but so far I am liking it.

I use this one too.  Love it.  Bought it for cold weather motorcycle riding after years of fighting with cheap loose fitting ones that bunch up inside a tight fitting helmet.  Mine doubles as a trooper balaclava.  And it's constructed in a way that makes it easy to pull the part that goes up over your nose down around your chin for easier breathing when you take off your bucket at break time.

I do hear a lot of people mention the Under Armour one (A really fitting brand name, eh?) but for now, I'll see how this cheap one works out. Money is a bit tight right now. I bet i'll upgrade at some point.
