fil5117
I'm having problems with my forearm and bicep armour positions. The biceps keep flaring out or clipping the forearm armour. I was wondering what the ideal position should be. Studying the film they're all over the place. I've already had my armour cleared so they're not too bad, but I'm now looking to meet Lancer standards - so I'm questioning what the ideal position should be. Chopper
Hey Phil, assuming the flak vest is no more than 1-1.5" past the shoulder armor, they should ideally sit about 1/2" - 3/4" under the bottom edge of the flak vest. That can vary though based on your build, so it's not a hard rule. If you have some photos of how they're currently set up, that would help. fil5117
Cheers, yea I haven’t got much space to play with. I’ll post some pictures up tomorrow. Ta
fil5117
This is how they were at their worse. I then bent the edges of the biceps so they hugged the arm a little more closely. But on my first troop they did flare out a little on some of the photos I saw.
fil5117
I'm now toying with lowering the forearms a little.
fil5117
They've twisted a little because they're not firmly secured, but if they look better I'll attach some poppers.
fil5117
Other than confirming the biceps and forearms, and my drop boxes riding a little high - there's nothing else immediately obviously wrong for a lancer submission?
Chopper
You will need to provide higher res photos for your Lancer submission, but generally things look ok. You might want to check your left chest pouch and even it up. You can also use velcro to secure your biceps, forearms, and knees to the flight suit. Take a look at this post prior to submitting, as it covers a number of common issues that can be easily remedied: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/20150-lancer-deployment-request-rev-2019/
fil5117
Thanks. I think the forearms and biceps sit better now. I’ll add velcro and poppers to keep them in place, and look into that left pouch, ta
fil5117
Excuse my OCD. I've been wondering about the position of the bicep and forearm armour, in relation to the arm. I've deliberately put the armour on my bare arm, so you can clearly see the elbow. I reckon the armour should be positioned on the arm, so when it bends it moves naturally in the manner shown. If you want to get a good photo you would need to have the back of your hand facing forward - which is a little unnatural. If you were to place your arms by you side as you would when standing to attention, the armour appears wrong. So is the armour positioned correctly with regards to the elbow, and getting a good picture is down to being aware of how you need to hold your arms? Have I got the position wrong ... or am I over thinking this?
Chopper
Hey Phil, so the center points of the bicep armor and the forearm armor shouldn't be aligned along a straight line. Visualize the positioning like this -- if, looking down from above, your nose is the 12 o'clock position, then the bicep armor should be at 3 and 9 o'clock. The forearm armor should be at the 2 and 10 o'clock positions. You can also see it in the CRL photo below:
