SC Assembled Armor?

Recommended Posts

I've finally decided to pull the trigger on getting my own biker scout set.

I picked up the cummerbund and pouches from Cheesewhoopy (I got their boots as well)

I bought a flak vest and flight suit from KriptonTop on Etsy, along with some gloves from WampaWear

And I purchased a lovely Altmann helmet due to my large head.

That leaves me with one thing left, the armor itself! 😁

I bailed on a clone trooper build early on because I struggled with the helmet kit I bought, so I'm mostly set on a pre-built set of SC armor.

What are your thoughts on this path? I'm within the height and weight range that their website lists, but I haven't been able to find any feedback on that the pre-built variant, just posts regarding their trimmed kit.

I am prepared to adjust it for a better fit, but I wanted to ask here first just to make certain that I'll take the correct path.

(It's been a pleasure reading the various threads around here while doing research, you seem like a very friendly bunch!)

The scout is actually primarily a soft parts kit, so, with only a few exceptions, there's a lot of latitude in terms of fit to various body types.

In my personal opinion, it's not usually worth the money to get the scout armor fully assembled. If you're not a good match bodywise for the assembly, you'll end up ripping a lot of it apart and then re-assembling it.

The armor itself really only needs a few parts for assembly. Mostly rivets, velcro, elastic, and adhesive.

My advice -- get your armor fully trimmed and ready for assembly from SC, which I believe is one of the options. Do the final assembly yourself. It's not that bad and we're here to help. You can do it!

Thanks for the encouragement =]

I've given it some thought and I figured I should be able to pull through, it seems easy enough with such simple tools.

Plus it'll save me tons of cash, hehe.

I'll make sure to post here if I run into any problems or confusion with the assembly!

I want to echo Chopper, the SC trimmed armor kit was my very first experience as a costumer, I found out how INCREDIBLY easy it was to put everything together I was also able to build it to Lancer standard. I also had the fear of "oh my gosh what if I screw things up, this kit is 700+ what if I screw it up! Ummm its a possibility but we are here to guide and direct you EVERY STEP of the way. All you gotta do is break it down into its individual parts and focus on them one at a time, just like everything else in life.
I promise you will be fine. We ARE here for you. Ask as many questions as you would like. If you need to find me on Facebook to do a live chat with any questions you have feel free to do so. Look me up Jake Putnam.

I live to help people get onto their bikes and ride with us through Endor.

We are ALL here for you!

I'm amazed at how friendly and welcoming you all are! 😄 You've made me feel a whole lot more confident in doing this for sure.

Once I pull the trigger on this, I'll make sure to ask as many questions as I need to over here. (I won't be going for Lancer)

Thank you!

I've got the same set up you have f it armour - SC armour and Altmann's helmet

I got pretrimmed from SC, and I found they answered a lot of my questions, the rest were either here, or garrison

The hardest thing about doing anything with the armour, when you get it, is the first cut, drill, rivet, file, or whatever you start with
I had all that doubt too (So I bought a gunner to practice on )
But in all seriousness, once you have made that first move, you will not look back
And if you've done the work yourself (or even with help), you'll wear it with a lot more pride than if it's all made for you

Good luck and look forward to seeing your troop reports

One of the scariest things is dirtying up the almost $400 helmet. But then you do and think holy crap this is awesome!
