First Time Armor Build - Shore Trooper

Newbie from Oregon planning to start my first build. I have been wanting to make a set of shore trooper armor for a while and recent aquired a finished helmet so I figure its time to get to it. I know there's lots of resources here and basically just looking for advice on a good starting point.

Initially I was thinking of using fiberglass for the hard parts since its what I'm most familiar with but a friend recommended Sintra though not having much luck finding it for sale.

I appreciate any direction and look forward to the project.

So you are going to be making armor completely from scratch?  Most folks either buy an armor kit from a vendor or 3D print armor from one of the many file sets available.

For scratch-building I'm afraid I have little advice for you.  Maybe obtain one of the 3D print files so you can at least get the proper dimensions.  I have to say, your armor kit is going to have to look top-notch in order for it to pass 501st standards.  So you may want to consider going one of the two routes I described above.

But if you don't care about 501st clearance and are just here to learn what you can about the Shoretrooper, our forum is open to you!   Best of luck and let us know if you have any questions.
