Koenig
Ok so my suede is here and I'm going to start with the butt flap. My issue is in one picture it looked like it's center cheek to center cheek but then the pictures with it being worn it looks wider. Anyone have any information on how to measure this? CatfoodRob
I have imperial boots gloves and they compare to genuine gloves very well ...why the reccomendation of Wampa wear over them ? I'd say they are equal in accuracy , what's your complaint with them ? I have original and I B , and see very little difference . Delivery times are also equal . I personally have wampa gloves and got them a few days after ordering but never had anything from I B

As a general guideline, I'd say that the butt flap should extend from just inside the edges of of where the plastic on the belt ends and the webbing begins -- maybe 1/2" to 1" inwards on each side. You can see it in the back side CRL photo below. There's some leeway, depending on body time and size, but you can start there and see how it looks. You can also take a template out of paper and give us a look to double check, before you cut and sew anything.

Ok cool I was looking at the close-up pictures and didn't think about looking at the belt but thanks. I was going to use paper but was not sure where to start. Aradun
Bikerscout007 has a great post on undersuit mods where he talks about placement and measurements for the mud flap.Butt flap Most of us just use a suede pigskin for the patches. Tandy Leather is a good supplier of this. A 7-10ft sq piece is more than enough. My suede "butt flap" patch is roughly square, about 13.5x12.5. I'm 6'0 and 180lbs, so this may vary on your size. The easiest place to attach is along the seam of the elastic band that goes around the waist of the suit. And here is the finished product! I hope this helps! I will add to this thread as necessarySent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Koenig
So a bit off topic but while I'm waiting I was debating making a set of shadow scout armor to swap back and forth. My issue is gloss black or flat? I see both are allowed but only ever saw gloss.
Retrofire
Take a trip over to the SpecOps Detachment forum and take a look: https://specops501st.com/, They are a friendly folk and have a lot of knowledge on that armor. The Shadow Scout CRL (https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_shadow_scout) indicates that The armor is gloss, semi-gloss, satin or matte black. Most of the armor is gloss as that’s the material the makers typically use. You can put your own touch on it by giving it a repaint with the finish of your choice. That’s probably your best bet. Let us know when you get to the word from your GML Jason! We’re all pulling for you!
