Hi Luis!

It’s possible to modify that area. You first need to cut this area marked in red to create an opening (on both halves of the shin). Then fill the edge where you cut it off.

If there’s no cover strip in your kit then you can create one yourself. I had to do that for my shins too, check my build thread to see how I did this:
