jwnikita Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 So I’ve been working on a blaster build the kit is from AprilStormsProps on Etsy and is printed in ABS and not resin. Here’s my progress so far. All pieces have been sanded and primed. Because tgey are ABS I can use acetone to glue/weld the pieces together. I needed to sand the inside of the slot of the stock for proper fit. Once glued I needed to fit the tab to the slot on the grip. This was a tedious task and it took lots of time sanding to get the proper fit. The stock attaches to the grip with the tab and slot and is held in place with a bolt. This makes it removable for easy portability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
Chopper Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 Hey Jill, nice work on the DLT20A so far. Are you using the high build primer to help get rid of the print lines?
jwnikita Posted October 6, 2019 Author Posted October 6, 2019 Hey Jill, nice work on the DLT20A so far. Are you using the high build primer to help get rid of the print lines?Everything has already been sanded and primed at least once and I do have the automobile primer/filler spray that I have been using and will hit everything again once any seams or gaps are filled. jwnikita Posted October 6, 2019 Author Posted October 6, 2019 A bit more progress today. This section is definitely going to need some Bondo at the seam of the grip and magazine so that it is sealed and strebgthenwd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jwnikita Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 More progress today. Used Bondo on one seam and glued more pieces together. Had to do some sanding to get the barrel to slide nicely into the notches of the barrel shroud. In the process of fitting, one small corner of the shroud snapped so I will have to use some Bondo to fix and strengthen it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
jwnikita Posted October 8, 2019 Author Posted October 8, 2019 More work today. Repaired the barrel shroud and started the painting process. Hit everything again with filler/primer and one last sand. First coat is a silver undercoat. With use over time, and as scratches inevitably develop, the silver undercoat will look natural under the black topcoat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
