Zer Cheese Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Hello there, Next Sunday, I'll have fun with my new biker costume. But it'll be a sunny day so I want to know how wash it. I would like to consult you about the suede patch on the under suit. What I can do. A-Wash it in cold water B-Washing machine at home C-Dry cleaning D-Never wash it and smell Thank you for help Zer Cheese TB 14375 from French Garrison
Aliaz Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I just wash it in the washing machine on s Cold Cycle.
Frank75139 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I’m going “D” lol. I’ve asked this same question before as well. I’ve worn my a few times on hot days but it never seems to smell. Again it’s a few times not every month. I usually hang it outside to breath and spray it with frebreez. I was also worried about the patches but I guess if other people have washed it then it’s ok. Do you have a spare piece of the patch? Maybe wash that with some other things and see how it holds up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ScottF Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I’ve used rubbing alcohol diluted with water
Chopper Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I've washed both my coveralls and flak vest after some particularly hot troops left salt marks on the suit. I went with option 'A", and hand-washed them in the bathtub with some woolite and cold water. Then I wrung them out with a towel and let them air dry. Probably the safest/most conservative way to get them clean. As Scott mentioned, some folks turn the coveralls inside out, then spritz the insides with rubbing alcohol.

Not everyone has the same suit with the same leather or faux leather. TEST!!! Don't assume something that works for persons suit is going to work with yours. 1
BikerScout007 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Turn them inside out, wash in cold. Hang to dry. Or hell, throw them in the dryer. I really don't care if the suede fades or gets rough. It's not supposed to be perfectly smooth suede anyway.
Zer Cheese Posted September 13, 2019 Author Posted September 13, 2019 Thanks a lot everybody, I think that I will return the under suit and wash it in the bathub in cold water. I hope that is the correct procedure. Zer Cheese
TwistedZen Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 I have used Dryel for mine. https://dryel.com/ It is just a bag and essentially what is a large wetnap. You put them in the dryer on medium for 15-30 minutes and they come out pretty fresh. I have used it for my Officer uniforms as well. You can pick them up on Amazon, Target, and I think Walmart. 2
