Jangotat
Hey guys. Long time fan of the legion and me and my girlfriend have decided to take the plunge in building our first costumes. Never done this before so I want to take my time. Though I am torn between the shoretrooper and biker scout. Luckily my for me they are both in pathfinder😁 I'm leaning more towards the shoretrooper but wondering what your guys thoughts are for which is more beginner friendly and more suited to a shorter trooper at 5'7. Also I looked at the map for detachments and couldnt find what my detachment would be for the toronto ontario area in canada. -Kevin

I would say as both a Scout and a Shoretrooper, the Scout is the easier of the two and most forgiving of different sizes. It's even easier if you can do some of the soft goods yourself. The Shoretrooper is not as soft-goods reliant (just a shirt, pants, gloves and boots), but it is much more armor-intensive. And there is a lot of painting involved. But either costume is a great choice and there is plenty of help to be found here on this forum.
M.J
Hi ya Kevin and Girlfriend. Welcome! I'm with Mickey, Scout trooper is a good kit to bite into for your first one, and of course its one of my favourites. Very user friendly so to speak to make.
Jangotat
Thanks guys! So I decided I am gonna go scout armour. Makes sense cause it was always my favourite from the OT Anyone know some good canadian sources for parts? Or a good place to start really. I do plan on losing some weight for this build so figure doing the soft goods might be good to wait a little on

You should reach out to both and see exactly what demographics they each cover. Then you can make a decision based on your location to see which one you want your primary affiliation to be with. Once you have that figured out, they should be able to get you on their forums and such as an official recruit until you costume is approved.
