I'm shooting for level 2 biker scout.

I've not seen shoulder bells attached with zip ties in the movies (I have a picture of the scout trooper after he hits Han in ROTJ and the top of the shoulder bells are clean, no zip ties.

Where is the preferred way to attack the waist pouches that hang over the cummerbund, some velcro them to the inside of the chest armor, do others velcro them to the back of the cummerbund itself? No specific are given.

the cod piece is not to be stitched to the cummerbund for level 2 approval, then should it be made longer so that it sits under the cummerbund and attached to the rear via webbing and velcro?

I feel the crl could be more descriptive as it what is expected and perhaps how this could be achieved.

Also, where does one acquire concave bolts for the helmet?

You can use velcro to attach pouches to the bund. The cod piece attaches to the flak vest via velcro.  The strap on the cod piece attaches to the back of the vest.

I'm thinking Lancer and level 2 are the same thing by the looks of things.

That's correct. They're synonyms.

You can use this thread for some suggestions for keeping your costume together. They're only suggestions though, not hard and fast rules.

You can order the 3M bolts here:

Has anyone in the Lancer group stayed true to form, I looked up Lancers in Wookiepedia, they were armed with melee weapons; hence the name. Or is it just a title to differentiate troopers that go the extra mile for screen accuracy?

A lot of the things you are talking about are connections that can't be seen.  We've never regulated the stuff that we can't see.  We only judge on the visible parts of the costume.

1.  We have plenty of photos of the zipties.  You can see one quite obviously in the Costumes book.  Remember the Scout Trooper that fights with Han is wearing the rubber stunt armor so it was not made the same as the others.

2.  You can sew the pouches to the bund as was done in the film.  Or you can velcro them, which is what I do.  Makes it easier to wash.  The chest armor attachment method was traditional around these parts for a while and it does provide a lot of support for your phone and such, but the pouches always hang at weird angles when they are attached to the armor.  For level 2 it has to have the "appearance" of being attached to the bund.  How you do it is up to you.

3.  Yup.  Mine is sewn to the bottom of my vest, as was done in the movie.  But again, because you can't see the connection, we don't make demands on how it is done.  Lots of people just velcro it to the flight suit or to the back of the cummerbund.

do you happen to have a link for the zip tie bells?

do you run two strips of velcro in the back or do you run the top tab " Pouches have an attachment tab of at least 2 inches high to attach to the cummerbund". by itself without velcro at the base (I assume the pouches would flop around without any bottom velcro.  Is the tab velcroed direct to the face of the cummerbund or around the top to the backside of the cummerbund?

I run a strip of velcro loop across the top of my bund and then have hook on the back of the attachment tabs of the pouches.

It's okay if the bottom of the pouches swing out.  They did in the film.

Which he got from this forum....

Do it how you like.  Again we don't specify the method, just that we can see the ziptie bridge between the bell and the shoulder bridge.
