Propstore image of some original scout helmet moulds

I figured it might be interesting as a reference source, so I'll be on the look out for additional close up images.

One interesting item that stands out to me is how big the visor hole is on the mould. Just conjecture on my part, but I wonder if this mould was used for the rubber stunt helmet? That was one of the scout helmet variations, which featured a bigger visor hole.

I'll add more images as I come across them.

I'm not sure if they were used at all.  Description says they were "safety moulds" in case they were needed for production.  They'd probably go for more money if they were actually used for production helmets.

True, and to be honest, looking back at this example posted on starwarshelmets, the visor slot looks pretty large on that one as well. Probably me just over thinking it.

I believe that's correct, or at least that's what was indicated in the costumes book. The moulds above are described as safety moulds, likely for back up purposes.

They were. Also I believe there was a picture around here back in the day when I joined of actual moulds.

I recall seeing that photo as well, Tim. I did some searching and found this -- I think it's from when they were talking about the original wooden bucks for the EFX scout helmet.

That's one I remember. Someone at one point posted a link to a picture of the original bucks. I swear some where on one of my PC's I have the picture. Its was posted late 2013 I wanna say.
