mickeymark34
I read on a boot tutorial that the marine vinyl should be “High Quality”. I found some at Hobby Lobby, and was curious to know if theirs is considered high quality or not. I’d like to shoot for Lancer. Thanks in advance for the help. The app for Joann’s said my local store had some available. After driving there, I found they had none.

Adianu
The app for Joann’s said my local store had some available. After driving there, I found they had none. I had this happen too at Joann's, more than once. There wasn't much to do about it since their system showed it in stock but they couldn't find it. I ended up purchasing vinyl on Amazon and it worked well. Very similar side by side with vinyl others had from Joann's. Jakeputt
Yeah, tylically a person ends up with a lot of excess. I have a whole bunch of suede leather left over from the riding patch and flap. Im glad you found the stuff though. Honestly just by looking at the material that stuff from hobby lobby didnt look quite as thick as you needed but without feeling it its hard too tell. mickeymark34
I got that feeling too after seeing a picture from a build thread. It’s seemed real flimsy. Thanks for reminding me about the suede, as I will need that too.

That way your not stuck buying several yards of it when you only need maybe half a yard.
mickeymark34
There is a Tandy Leather shop not too far from where I live. Thanks for the offer though.

Let me figure how much I’d need. Should we PM the details of cost?
Stroker
Just a heads up I've found suede at the goodwill. Yeah some of those old jackets and stuff from the late 80s early 90s work perfectly. It's also cheap!

I've gone to Tandy twice to get suede. Each time I got this and it was more than enough: https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/glazed-pig-lining
