Imperial boots sole conversion?

Hi there. Just curious if anyone here has tried or seen anybody ever try to cut out the   boot sole pattern from imperial boots to make it screen accurate? The soles seem to be a little too thin to pull this off. Thoughts from those who have IB?

I don't believe so, or at least I haven't seen anyone share their experience here with trying to cut the IB scout boots. 

I do recall someone mentioning that the IB sole material was not so easy to cut with an exacto knife, can't seem to find the thread atm though
