Just picked up these bad boys on eBay for $40.

I’m going to give them the ole airbrush color treatment like when I had to color uniform my tan Sierras to the added strips

Unfortunately they’re too small for me, so I’ll use them on a mannequin or if my wife ever decides to scout.

Guess I’ll have to buy another scout armor set *sigh* 😁

Maybe this time a strider set.

OR paint them black and do an RS shadow scout mannequin 🤔

The camo ones are cool. I almost had a pair to wear - a buddy of mine found a pair in size 13 but they didn't *quite* fit. *sigh*

Man I check Ebay all day every day for a pair. I just want a pair to put on the shelf.

I think I have a few searches. Some of them are "Sierra Sneakers", "woodland sneakers", "sierra hikers", "sierra trading post", and a few others.

It's very hit and miss as some folks don't know how to label them, so they fall through the search webs.

Yep.

i think i searched:

hitec sierra

Hi tec Sierra

sierra sneakers

used hitec

hitec boots

hitec sneakers

hitec canvas

hitec hiking

vintage hitec

Did this for a week and a half

Almost had a heart attack when I saw this.  Those are the ones I’m using now

Then 3 days I started searching again for boots for my sons wtf kids scout armor for San Diego comic con. The next day, this popped up

Man all the ones you've listed plus a ton more on my on! I found a pair around 2 years ago the sole was very hard on them almost to the point they were cracking. I wished I would have kept em,but  I might luck on to another set. I sold them to a scout here on the boards.

The camo Sierras are a good size for my sons scout with a lot of wiggle room for him to still grow into.

At this point I’m only interested in looking to locate the ever elusive INTER boots.

if I come across another Sierra, I’ll give you a heads up 😁👍🏼

Looking at these boots again...it’s really close to the sierras.

Same canvas color

same sole color

low toe cap profile

the sole has the same bottom notch locations (flat under the toes and under the heels)

with some accurate carving, these could almost pass as a Sierra sneaker

In case anyone’s interested, I came across another Camo pair in a search today.  Not sure how you’d “fix” the color of the sole.

That's a crazy price for boots that need to be painted.  Maybe they can be talked down.

Or they could be swamp scout boots :D

I agree.  It’s no $40 bargain like Whiskey stumbled upon, but given that I’ve yet to personally come across a real pair running for less than $300.00 it might be considered a steal by some who’ve been looking for a long time.

Okay I reached out to the seller and let her know our concerns about the color.  She has reduced the price to $175.  Still need to be painted, but hey I tried!

I reached out to her and she sent me an offer.  After attempting to convert my current pair, will have to pass. Especially since they’re too small. I don’t think I’d pay over $75 (she offered a much higher price but lower than $175) for a pair that will have a finite amount of usage.

So far the conversion for my son is going “OK”

This kids won’t allow me much time before they want attention  lol  so it’s feeling a bit rushed

The paint is a Tamiya Tan.  Needs to be a custom paint since the Sierras have darker soles and have almost an orange tint to them

Not bad, but not “good”
